| Then they'll just have to eat delicious, healthy food along with you! Atkins food is ok for basically anyone! Cook at home, and prepare healthy meals, if they complain, add a side dish they'll eat. You can do it! Relatives are no reason to give up. Do your relatives know you're following atkins..? Do you want to quit because you'll fear they'll disapprove, or because you're afraid you'll cheat?

| There is a saying that goes something like.... Do what you've always done and you'll get what you always got. In my case, that was fat. What it boils down to is why did you start trying to change in the first place? Those reasons are still valid! Are you eating enough to satisfy yourself? Sometimes it takes a while to perfect the combination of foods you eat to = things that give you enough to fill your belly and keep it happy while still staying within the prescribed formula for weight loss. Keep trying new things! You CAN set yourself up for success while your family is there. You CAN have things they will snack on while you snack on the things that are allowed. 1. Keep your snacks handy! Veggies and a low carb dip of some sort will give YOU the advantage. Having celery and cream cheese or something you enjoy that's legal while they are eating something else will help you. How can someone eating chips or some other nasty carb filled snack rag on you while you're eating veggies??? 2. PLAN meals ahead of time. Make a main course (meat), and vegetables, a salad! That's a nice meal for anyone, even people who aren't watching their carbs. Fish is good too, if you like it. Broil some fish, make a salad, have some brocolli! You don't have to spill everything about the diet if you don't want to, or aren't ready to. If they ask, just tell them you're eating healthier! If they have to have something sweet, make them get it, bring it, and eat it, and put any leftovers someplace you won't normally be grabbing for things. And, make them take any illegal leftovers home with them if they can, or throw them out as soon as they are gone!

| Great post Jasmain! Blue, I know it can be soooo hard. Sometimes the cravings seem to be too much. It's tempting to throw the towel in and just forget this stupid WOE... But if you do that you'll be exactly where you started. You have two choices - to stick with this or to give up. Giving up gets you no where. It only means that you'll be back in the same boat you were in before you started and having to deal with this again when you go on your next 'diet'. Be strong, this will pass! I promise!!! There were days I could cry because I wanted to cave so badly. I made due with a snack size cup of sugar free jello (not recomended by some) or I'd just fill up on induction friendly foods. After about a month or so this went away. Now I can't even remember the last time I was tempted to eat something bad for me, this has become second nature. Stay strong, you can do this! If you need support come here - withtout this site I would have been lost! Also, you can make Atkins friendly versions of most foods - try them. Sure they may not be 100% the same but it helps! Good luck and stay strong, you can do this!!!

| It looks to me like you are 12 lbs away from your goal, due to this, should you be working your way up the rungs to where you are premaintenance? Which would give you a little more manuever room in what you can eat???? Perhaps learning about these and understanding them will help you get through the next two weeks. Basically what you have to decide is do you make this a way of life for yourself or do you see it as a diet? If you go all crazy these next two weeks, you will more than likely regain what you have worked hard to lose and perhaps even get on the cycle of gaining even more which usually happens when you yo-yo. I am not advocating you do this but if you are decide to have a planned cheat, PLAN IT. I mean look for times when you don't necessarily HAVE to go off plan, choose wisely and remember what you have learned. There are always choices. You can choose to plan this and determine what it will mean to you and how to get through it without losing all of the success you have had, or you will "give up" and not care anymore and just eat whatever. Make sure you get exercise in that is substantial enough to help do damage control if you do go off plan. I would hate to see you at the end of the 2 weeks wishing you had stayed on plan or at least as close as you could or have to start all over again, even farther from your goal than when you started. You have worked so hard. Don't let all of that become a shrug and an oh well. You may want to make a ME ONLY cabinet where there is one cabinet you go to when you want food and its all atkins friendly. If you have to, tell your friends your food way of eating is for health reasons. Don't elaborate, and they will think its doctor's orders and be less likely to try and get you to go off plan. They won't know its you actually getting to a more healthy weight for yourself. Believe me i know its not easy but you have to decide what your priorities are.. you have a little happy face in your sig with a i am half way to my GOAL!!! Do you really want to change that? Is food your priority in life now, or is just having fun with your guests and spending time with them your priority? I hope you make the best decision for you!!

| Well blue, I could add to the sentiment here, but really everyone above has said it sooo well. Choose Atkins, choose to stay strong, and over come...It will only make you stronger for the next hurdle...this is a true turning point and someone will win, YOU or FOOD....Choose YOU

| Blue, I have god-children, relatives and friends who come over all the time. You know what they eat? The same stuff I eat. If I've planned a dinner of roast beef, mashed cauliflower, spinach and a selection of cheeses for dessert---that's what they're eating too. If they don't like it, they are more than welcome to forage for food on their own. When we go out for meals, I don't take 'one bites' and I don't 'try some'. They eat what they eat. I eat what I eat. Also, you are about 12 pounds from goal. So you might want to consider moving to the On-Going Weight Loss Phase. You will still lose weight but you will be able to eat a wider variety and amount of carbs. That will help when your visitors arrive.
