Default What is your Critical Carbohydrate Level??

I was reading in the book where people have different critical carbohydrate levels where you can have X-amount of carbs a day and still lose. I was curious to know what yours is. Thanks!

if you look in chapter 14 of your DANDR it will give you an estimate based on your metabolic resistance determined by your inducion 14 day weight loss of the range you can expect. if you up your exercise you can eat more of those healthy carbs but if you don't or cut back your exercise level then you will need to cut back your carbs too.

My CCLL was really difficult to figure out as my weight loss was very not linear (down 3 pounds one day, up 1 pound the next) on the way down. The closest I was able to figure it out to be was around 50-60, but I typically eat below that on daily basis. The upper limit is just that -- you can eat below it if you chose to do so. Those are the joys of OWL and PM - figuring out what new foods you like and dislike now that your tongue is resensitzed to taste.

I lost quite a bit of weight, and am still losing a respectable amount each week, so I think my CCLL will be quite high...well shucks I think it'll be at least 50, which is more carbs that I can shake a stick at right now. I barely eat 25 a day currently.

Yup, when you all move to OWL phase, you will be able to figure out what your CCLL is. For the majority of us, we can eat above 20 net carbs daily.

My CCLL is 50. I lose slowly. So as I've lost, I've gained muscle, etc. As my body changed, I noticed my CCLL changed too. Originally it was 30. Now it's 50. As 2Big said, regular exercise can increase your CCLL. (Emphasis on "regular"....don't get suckered into thinking you can pig out on carbs, then exercise 6 hours the next day and everything will be alright.)

Juli brings up a good OWL concern...the amount of food you can eat. You have to get creative and sneaky in order to eat those carbs without stuffing yourself like a Thanksgiving turkey, but there are ways to do it.

Unfortunately, I'm about 25-30. Most days I stick around 20 and some I go as high as 30-35, but I gain pretty quickly if I go over that. I have been able to add the variety of foods thorugh OWL however, so it helps.
