Hey guys,

Is it normal to not feel hungry at all i mean i try to eat still but there is no apatite at all.

Is it bad not to eat if your not hungry or shall i force my breakfast lunch & dinner down ?

Also whats the best way to know if im in ketosis? (sorry if thats been asked a million times!)

Thank You.

Don't worry, not feeling hungry is normal. For my second week of induction I destested the mere sight of food. It was a struggle just to get the food in my mouth.

It wouldn't be wise to just skip eating; however, because your body needs fuel or your metabolism will slow down to compensate and you'll lose weight more slowly. So, I would try to eat something, it just doesn't have to be a veritable feast is all.

If you're feeling this way, there's a good chance your body is in ketosis. There are also a few physical signs such as sweet smelling breath, metallic taste in your mouth, pungent smelling urine and a few others. Ketostix work for some people, but some can't even get them to register even though they're in ketosis. I'd be willing to bet that you are in ketosis though by the way you're feeling about food.

Yeah, loss of appetite... it happens. I still find that I'm not hungry sometimes. See if you can't find something small to munch on, though. Because, even if you don't feel hungry, your body might be, and if you don't feed it, it think's it's being starved. So, to protect itself, your body may slow down your metabolism to story energy until the next time it gets food.

Usually here, people will recommend you listen to your body, then you'll know what to do. But in this case, ignore it and eat anyway. Even if it's something small like a chuck of cheese or a couple slices of cucumber.

Hope I helped.

remember when you are goping to eat but not hungry Dr Atkins said to wait 6HRs beofre you do so and then have a small snack of protein/fat with some of your carbs.

that is the only exception to the feed only your hunger rule 6 waking hours of no food cause you were not hungry.

remeber you got lots of calories stored in your body fat to use as fuel when you are not hungry.

Ketosis is a strong appetite suppressant. So congrats, you are in ketosis. If you look at the FAQ section of this board, you will find a link about the "physical signs of ketosis".

lets seeyou got heart burn and constipation and now you just want to eat cheese?

if you cure the constipation everything should feel better did you take your senokot you were asking abiut?

appetite supression is a normal part of your atkins as you have been experiencing. Dr Atkins sais to just have a small amount of protein/fat with some of your carbs if it has been 6 yr since you ate last. so add a bit of veggie to your cheese.

hope you feel better soon.
