| Hi, You are doing a great job eating the Low Carb way. There will be days when you don't lose(at least the scale will show no loss). You body has to catch up with your losses. Just a fact of life. You are probably losing inches, be sure and keep track of inches lost too. This is showing you that you are making progress. There will be days that you eat less and then days you will be more hungry and will eat more. It should equal out. |

| Oh yeah, our bodies go through periods of adjustment. For me, I lose weight in big chunks. It's not always steady. I'll lose pounds one week, inches the next, then maybe nothing for a little bit, and then whoosh...a big loss again. Stick with the plan, it will work. It's gotten me back in my high school prom dress! :P

| First, let me congratulate you on your weightloss success thus far! ![]() I agree with everything Validrouge and Becky Sue had to say, but: I will say that if there are days you are only eating 600 calories...that really can stall your progress...you have to think of your metabolism like a fireplace...(bear with me) When you initially start a fire...it takes a lot of wood to get it going...kindling...newspaper...and lots of billowing air onto it... Much like eating breakfast to kick start the metabolism... Then the fire continues to burn throughout the day...and only needs a few sticks of wood (energy...food) to keep it going... But if you let the fire go out..by not adding wood (energy...food) Then you have to start the fire (metabolism) all over again... Fireplaces aside.... It isn't good for your blood sugar levels either...my doctor has informed me that peaks and valleys (i.e.: eating a great deal, as well as, eating too little) can monumentally screw up your insulin production in your body...eventually leading to insulin resistance...something I'm currently battling. I hope this can atleast serve as food for thought. Don't take my word as the gospel, but something to look into and consider. How much water do you get in a day? |

| Thanks gals. I normally drink atleast 100 oz. a day easy. I do not drink anything else. I gave up coffee, sweet tea, soda, etc..(I did so well on that , I suprised myself!). There was one day I only had 438 calories, which is horrid but I ate well. I really don't know what to do about no appetite. (I laugh at that, that is the last thing I would EVER imagine myself saying.) Perhaps, making food with higher calories? Like instead of just chicken breasts, maybe having dipping sauce of mayo and mustard..or having a bigger side dish..I don't know. I'm rambling. (Sorry!) I took measurements on November 4th when I started, so I know I haven't lost anymore inches either but hey, I knows its only week 2! =) I'm not expecting a miracle, I just want to know I am doing it right. I have noticed a difference in my face..besides my skin (bats lashes) its purty! But my face is slimming down. Anywho ladies, thank you all for your responses and taking time to read my posts. If ya ever need a friend, dieting buddy, or just someone to rant at..I'm a talker! |

| Kudos on giving up soda, etc.! Aren't the complexion benefits nice? Bats eyelashes...I too have noticed that one! LOL... Yes, yes, yes...I'd keep daily calories at no lower than 800-1000...depending on your size...just to prevent your body from going into starvation mode...and stalling your great progress. Nice talkin' to ya! |

| There is a phenomenon that some Atkineers experience: it's a mini-stall between weeks 3-6 of this diet. This thread is devoted to that: PISS-Post Induction Stall Syndrome- a reality to be expected Also be aware that Atkins is a high fat diet, not a high protein diet. At least 65% of you daily calories should be from fat.

| Fat 66% Carb 3% Protein 32% was stats for yesterday. And looking through, my stats are usually about that...some days Fat is higher like one day it was 76% 2% 22% Thanks for the info! One last question (okay probably not the last but ya know! :P) I bought an herbal tea... Lipton Caffeine Free Herbal Tea Cinnamon Apple 100% natural...all that is the name of it and flavor... Ingrediants: Cinnamon, hibiscus flowers, chamomile flowers, roasted chicory root, allspice, orange peel, roasted carob, natural cinnamon and apple flavors with other natural flavors(contains soy lecithin). Nutrition Facts: Calories 0 Total Fat 0 Sodium 0 Total Carb <1 Protein 0 Is this okay for Induction considering the ingrediants? Because if it is, I have died and went to heaven! If you like apple cider you will love this. Anywho, thanks! |
