| Drink water, lots of water. That always helps me....and you're supposed to be drinking it anyway.

| Remember - milk is not allowed till the second rung/level of the second phase of Atkins, so maybe try thinning some cream with water?

| Lots of water and if necessary, something to neutralize the extra stomach acid should help (check label for added no-no ingredients if it's an OTC antacid). Once you get further along in the diet, chances are heartburn will decrease. Your stomach is probably just producing the amount of acid it was "used to" making to digest heavy pre-induction meals, and since that food isn't there, you get the burn until your stomach adjusts to your new menu. Eating some "legal" foods to give the acid something to digest may help, too.

| I experienced this myself when I first started Atkins - and can almost promise that it will pass after a few days. In so many ways, it will only get easier!

| If you are adding any seasoning to your food , stop and see if that helps.I found out that my daughter and I have issues with simple(premixed/ground) seasonings as ment for poultry, beef ect...It make me regurg food and she gets the acid relfux with pain. Now we use a coule individual herbs and salt and pepper and our problems have cleared up. |
