| Hi, Keepin. The color of the test strips will vary, but as long as you show SOME indication (any color change at all) of ketosis, you're okay. As for the label, you only count the carbs, not the sugars. However, if something has sugar or corn syrup in the ingredients, you should stay away from it, even if it is low carb. My guess is that the Perdue shortcuts probably do probably have some sugar or corn syrup. But, since the carb count is relatively low, I seriously doubt you did any damage. Just watch the ingredients in the future. Just for info, the reason you don't "count" the sugars is that there are natural sugars in a lot of things we CAN have (especially as you move up the rungs). But, keeping an eye on the sugar grams is still a good idea -- if the number is above 1 or 2, it's a good, quick red flag to look deeper (at the ingredients) for evil sugar or corn syrup...

| Adena, Thank you for your help and support. I am about to have lunch and seen 3g carbs and 1g of sugar on the label for some canned mushrooms I am putting in my salad and thought OH NO!!! Then came online to see if I had a reply to this question. You saved my lunch! Thanks. |
