Atkins Breath

The last time I was on Atkins (for over a year), I noticed that it gives you some fierce dragon breath. My wife says it smells like old flesh, lol. I never did figure out how to get rid of it. I'm sure someone else has had this problem. Has anyone figured out a solution to it?

Brush your teeth every 20 minutes. I really don't know but if you find out i would love to know the answer. HAHA

Drink lots of water (which is a must on this WOE already) and chew parsley. The ketosis breath should go away in a while. It's a good sign though... means you're in ketosis!!

I've never had this, but I'm guessing I'll be experiencing it soon.

You might not 4me... not everyone gets it. I never had it at all, and was mostly in ketosis until pre-maintenance.

Not everyone experiences 'ketone breath' as an unpleasant smell - Dr Atkins thought of it as a sweet smell - see #12 in the 'Facts & Fallacies' Chapter of DANDR (chapter 9).

Bad breath often comes from mouth hygiene problems or tooth decay, so try cleaning your teeth more often or having some mouthwash handy.
