Default It's Working for Me

After a slow start in December and then falling quite ill, I am back to report that I am losing, losing, losing. Not too much YET, but I am not even done with Induction (and will probably remain until my goal is met)! I know SOME don't weigh themselves often, but I do - it keeps ME motivated!

When I was a lurker and learning, I always wanted to know what those on Induction were doing, so I'll share my strategy. The disclaimer is that I know my body and I know what works for me, so I make minor adjustments accordingly. Before I get flamed, I will say YOU need to do the same - listen to your body - not trying to tell you to do what I do.

Most importantly, I am being strict about the carbs! I am counting, reading, researching. While I love my sweets, I bought a back of sugar free individual chocolates for those moments when I think I will lose control - works wonders! The hardest thing for me was to give up my beer with dinner. I love all the "good" beers / microbrews...but HAD to give it up. I have put a couple "light" beers in the fridge that have 3 carbs in each, but that is for my own mental fight. I have not had the desire to even take a sip! Water, water, water, water - YEP - gotta drink it. Too much gives me a tummy ache, so I know my limit now. And I still have my coffee with cream in the AM - along with my first bottle of water.

Bascially, THIS DIET WORKS!! You must follow Dr. Atkins's rules and get in tune with your body. I hope my excitement will motivate others.

Congrats! I'm so glad you are doing your reading, and not just "taking it as it comes"...

can I ask where "pink ribbon" comes from?

I noticed this in your post and wanted just to suggest that you consider not staying on induction till you reach goal. It is our experience on this board that many of the 'second time arounders' had problems maintaining their goal weight just because they stayed on induction eating for their whole previous Atkins journey(s)!
When you have time do take a look at the OWL chapter of DANDR and read the posts in the OWL forum to see why it would be better to follow Dr Atkins suggestions to learn how to reintroduce non-induction food into your menus before you reach goal.

Smile Re: It's Working for Me

Hi everyone ....This year is my Atkins year ...two years have gone by and I have seen so many of my friends lose on the Atkins so i thought to myself I am missing out and its day 5 and all I can say Its definatley working for me ....I HAVE LOST 4 POUNDS AS @ THIS MORNING....

I have also embarked on trying to keep fit ...I work about an hour from my home and will be frequently walking to work in order to keep fit ...infact yesterday the weather was windy and drizzley and was a bit demotivated to go out for a walk after work however i just didnt feel right not doing it ...and i put on my jacket and trainers and i walked until i was satisfied ......i felt sooo good .....

I know some people suffer all sorts of things during induction...I am loving every moment of it ...am so positive , happy and looking foward to a slimmer and happier me..and the best thing of it all is I am doing this for myself and noone else ...in the past I had always dieted to please other people ...2007 is my year and noone else's ....

I just want to encourage others that when you put your mind to something ...go for it and dont look back .....there is no turning back for me .....
