| My skin has TOTALLY cleared up. I mean, I never really had blemishes to begin with, maybe the stray pimple every couple of months, but I haven't had a THING on my face since I started. My complexion is also healthier and glowing! Part of it has to do with the healthy fats and proteins we eat (sugar is BADDDDDDDDD for complexion!) and part of it has to do with all of the water I drink. My skin is hydrated, clean, and healthy. You'll also notice an improvement in your hair and nails. They'll be stronger, healthier, and shinier because of the foods and water you'll be consuming.

| My skin seemed to dry out pretty bad. My face is kinda flaky. I agree with it making your nails grow stronger. Mine has got tough since I started.

| My skin improved with Atkins, though I've always been pretty lucky skinwise. I put it down to the extra water...but maybe it's the diet too.

| My skin is in really good shape, unless I drink coffee....and then I break out in pimples. Otherwise, my skin is really hydrated and seems to be somewhat elastic since some of it is going back to normal with weight loss. (Slowly though)

| My skin is a lot better today than it was 2 months ago on the high-carb way of living. I agree sugar is bad for your skin...I think it must feed those bacteria that cause the problems.

| okay thank you all..... just worried i dont usually eat butter /////// or greasey anything for that matter as you all know already i only said it enough times.....lol... i have to be a believer cause i look at all you guys pics and i'm amazed with the before and afters.....you guys all look great.... and your all real people not tv people with reasons to lie..... i wanna be in that number dam it......... |

| Julie, You've come a long way...I love your pics! You look so beautiful and confident! Frenchfri - (That just strikes me as funny since your question is about fat) - I remember in high school when I had the usual teen acne, I eliminated various foods from my diet, like chocolate, fat, etc. I never had any luck clearing my skin up. I never eliminated sugar or white flour though...makes me wonder what would have happened if I had?

| Some members have posted about having increased spots for the first few weeks on Atkins (which did clear up in time) but most of us have experienced a perceptible improvement. I was only saying to my husband today that I suddenly noticed last week that my hard elbow skin (which sometimes cracked and bled) has completely disappeared and they are lovely and soft. I have no idea when this happened but am pleased it did !! My nails and hair are stronger too.
