Where can you buy stevia?

Can you get this at GNC, Vitamin Shoppe, or Walmart? I wanted to get some locally, i hate paying for shipping online and I hate the wait.

Check out your local health food stores--that will be your best bet for a bigger selection. Stevia comes in many forms. I buy liquid stevia; this comes in a bottle with a little dropper. A few drops go a LONG way! You can also purchase stevia in powder form, and you can buy stevia with added fiber. I DO believe that Wal-mart and other grocery stores carry powdered stevia in packets. At least, the ones near me carry it.

The reason it's carried in health food stores is because it's marketed as a supplement. If it were to be marketed as a sweetener, it would have to go through lots of red tape and rigamarole from the FDA to have it marketed as such, even though it's been safely used for many many years as a sweetener.

Vitamin Shoppe does carry it, at least my local one does.

Thanks, for the info. I actually got it at Super Walmart. It was about $8 for a pack of 100. Is that overpriced? Walmart doesn't really overprice things, but that sounds steep.

Are the packets diluted down to make them equivalent to a packet of sugar? If so, its a rip-off; even though its more convinent to just tear and pour, you get a lot less for your money. I got a bottle of full strength stevia from Raisin Rack 2 years ago and still have it. Its about 5 inches high and an inch and a half in diameter. I do believe it cost $10.
