| princess, those are FABULOUS results! You've lost 10 pounds and nearly 12 inches from your body. You lost a FOOT! With that exercise each day and all those inches lost, I'm guessing you've lost more than 10 pounds of fat, but have replaced some of it with muscle--that's the goal, to have lean, healthy, toned muscles! During induction I thought "Oh my gosh, all these carbs are gone forever" and that wasn't totally true. During OWL you get to add back in foods in a low GI-to-high GI order. The bad carbs won't be added back in, but you know what? I don't even want them! OWL is awesome, I never feel deprived. Are you staying on extended induction or moving on to OWL? Of course, I recommend moving on to OWL. Rung 1 is just another serving of induction veggies, which is awesome. Many people find a jumpstart to their weightloss when they move to Rung 1. Great job princess, keep up the great work!!!

| after the second week, i am moving to OWL..i know the book says not until you are 30 pounds from your weight goal, but that is in correlation to how fast you want to loose weight, and i dont really care how long it takes, as long as it goes...if that makes sense...for me, the important things are that i dont cheat, ever, and that i stick to my workout..the weight will come in time..i dont really care to increase my carbs, as much as i would like more food options (really just peanut butter and fruit, both of which i have never even liked before)..it is amazing how this plan works...i am craving things i have never even eaten or liked before, like fruits and vegetables..i really like how i can walk past breads, cookies, etc and not think anything, but walk by the fruit and say, "i can eat you soon if i work hard enough"....to me, this is all about learning to change bad habits, and since induction isnt a way of life, i think it is so important to work hard in the phases that i will use....who knows, what i think may be wrong, but that is my plan... ![]() oops...i almost forgot..thanks julie... |

| Good for you, Princess I dont think the book actually says you should continue with induciton unless you have only 30 pounds to go - I read it more as saying that if you have more than 30 pounds to lose and dont want to move on to OWL yet you may stay on induction for longer than the initial 2 weeks. Here we tend to suggest that most people would be better off by moving to OWL after the first 14 days unless they have lots of weight to lose - like many of our members in the CC forum who have over a hundred pounds to lose - or have very slow metabolisms which need to 'heal' before moving on. This is mainly because we see so many people giving up on the WOE because of the limited choices, thinking that Atkins consists only of the induction phase! Also the experience of many of our members is that slow weightloss often speeds up once they start adding more variety and carbs into their regime! I look forward to sharing your Atkins journey as you climb the OWL ladder!!
