| As long as you are following the Rules and eating off the Induction Foods list, I wouldn't worry about it. You lost 5 pounds. More importantly, you made some very drastic changes to your body and your body needs time to adjust to them. Also, we can expect to lose 5-10% of the weight we need to lose during our 14 days of Induction. So if you have a 100 pound weight loss goal, that's 5-10 pounds. If you have a 10 pounds weight loss goal, that 1/2 to 1 pound. Have you lost inches? Dr. Atkins told us to weigh and measure yourselves when we begin. According to him, losing inches was a more reliable indicator of the fat emptying from our bodies. The scale doesn't distinguish water retention from fat gain. During my TOM (time of month), I retain 3-7 pounds of water. And since our goal is to lose fat, I don't worry much about water weight "gain".

| I lost allot the first week, Im on day 13 and looked at the scales and Im back to around where I was when I started but then a few days before that I was around 168 again. Its an up and down game with the scales and I can see why its recommended to keep away from them. Ive decided if i do get the urge to weigh myself not to pay attention to the numbers as I can feel my clothes getting baggy so thats all that matters to me. Hang in there dont give up, just keep doing what you are and you will see results.

| Thanks guys, I had lost another pound this morning on the scale However I had just been to the toilet I cheated and had a glass of white wine last night, bit annoyed with myself as I had done 10 days clean, however it doesn't seem to have done any harm. I will be good again now! Cheers Greeneyed x |

| I'm right there with ya. I'm on my second set of induction and I've lost a total of 11 pounds but the darn scale will not move. Nothings changed...should I move on to the next level? |
