Default Need advice.

Ok last night I was in the WORST mood, not like me at all. Just crabby and bitchy, my poor family. I did a few "Im sorry's" this morning to my hubby and kids.

So anyway I caved in and had a diet coke the last few days (just one a day for like 3 days) still drinking lots of water. I was doing so well and I figured of all the cheating I could do this was probably the smallest of them and wouldnt kick me out of ketoise. BUT after reading what some of you are saying and the book says about cafine I really believe it. Last night I had the WORST craving for sugar and was soooooo close to going in the cabinet to get some of the kids easter candies. So instead I had a big class of water and went to bed early. It is also coming on that time of the month so I thought maybe that is why Im also craving the sugar. Is it the diet coke that could of done that? And caused the huge mood swing. Im normally NOT that much of a raving ***** when its that time of the month. Sorry guys if this is a bit TMI for you.

Good for you, you've found a food/substance that reacts poorly with your body. So now you know to avoid it completely or be aware of the side-effects and how to deal with them if you choose to it.

Been there, done that. That time just before TOM is my most vulnerable and often most emotional. Avoiding anything which runs the risk of causing cravings, extra bloat or other PMS symptoms is an excellent idea from at least a week ahead. (And don't trust the scales, either!)

Diet Coke is lethal for me!

It makes me want food and especially sugar/sweet things in the worst way, and it's so addictive that if I consume it regularly and don't have it within a certain timeframe, I'm like a junkie who needs a fix. I daydream, fantasize, and think nonstop about it until I get it.

I haven't had any since August, and I'm STILL nervous to try it. At one point, I had given up soda a LONG time ago (for Lent or something), and remember once I drank it again, the first time made me physically ill. So I think I'll stay away from it indefinitely.

Thanks every one, glad to see that its probably the diet coke. Isnt it weird what some things can do to us. And to think I LIVED on this stuff before, Id go some times 3 or 4 days just drinking diet coke and no water. Now to look back and think I did that is just crazy. Well I may have to throw out whats in the fridge and be done with it... Back to water for me...

But not sure I can give it up for the rest of my life, but while Im trying hard to lose its off limits for me i think.

OMG Coffee does the same thing to me. Momentarily I feel really good about drinking it...and I feel satisfied, but only for a while. When the craving comes back, it comes back BIG TIME. I'm especially more susceptible when it's just before TOM.

Do some research on low blood sugar symptoms. One of the symptoms is IRRITABILITY. This is my main problem. When you have low blood sugar symptoms, you might want to have a high(er) carb veggie as a snack (of course with a fat) like jicama or brussel sprouts, or something like that.

Too bad you didn't read my post from a couple of days ago! I was out and figured a Coke Zero wouldn't really be so bad. Well I got cravings so bad and I also turned into a major *****. I was miserable all night because I just wanted to eat. Be careful if you try sugar free Jello because after the coke I made the jello and I had a small serving then 2 hours later I was in the fridge binging and ate the whole thing. So I know I can't have coke zero or jell-o.

But look at it as a positive thing because now you know what it does to you and you can avoid it and keep a repeat from happening.

Best Wishes!
