I need some ideas for the use of sourcream in recipes. So far the only thing I can think of is tacos!

Wow...I thought that would be easy until I tried to think of it! LOL...

Okay...I don't know how many of these are low carb, but if they aren't perhaps they can be altered:

Give it all a dollop of Daisy!

Beef stroganoff. The real way to make beef stroganoff is to saute mushrooms, onions and thinly sliced beef (no tomatoes---the Russians didn't have tomatoes). Then you mix in enough sour cream to create a sauce that lightly coats all the ingredients.

Home-made salad dressing or dips. Mix equal amounts of mayo and sour cream, add herbs, spices, cheese, etc. Thin the dip to dressing consistency either with vegetable oil or water.

I normally put a tablespoon on my salad - its really nice as a dressing!! or if I make a bolognase type sauce I put a spoonful on that too with some grated cheese - it tastes pretty nice!!!

What about taco salad?

Sheila's Induction-Friendly Mucho Taco Salad

Serves 1 - Approximately 10 total carbohydrates for entire recipe

½ pound ground beef
1 T onion, chopped
1 tsp. minced garlic
½ tsp. pepper
1 T green chile sauce (optional)
Half-bag of Romaine lettuce, set aside in large bowl

The 3 following ingredients to be added LAST:
Handful shredded cheddar cheese
1-2 T sour cream
2 T of the lowest-carb tomato sauce you can find (I love Hunt's)

Brown ground beef on Medium heat - really break it apart! Once this is done, remove from heat, drain meat thoroughly, & incorporate the onion, garlic, pepper, tomato sauce, & optional green chili sauce - mixing together well. Once combined, add cheddar cheese, & transfer to large salad bowl. Finally, add sour cream & serve quickly!

Speaking of sour cream, I noticed that all regular sour cream brands are not the same in carb count - Daisy seems to have the lowest that I can tell.

I have added a little sour cream to my sugar-free Jello to make it more rich - yummy dessert!
