| No, you're not a pig. We all had food addictions. The thing to investigate is to find out why you ate them. Were you hungry? Bored? Depressed? What were your feelings? I used to eat chips, pretzels all the time. I finally realized I was addicted to salt. Once I omitted the salt, I was okay. A journal is great for keeping track of your feelings when you have these cravings. List some things you intend to do instead of eating your trigger foods. Drink extra water. Take a walk. Brush your teeth. Come to the ADBB and post how you are feeling. Write in your journal. Read a book. Do 15 min of exercise. Call a friend. If you have a plan prepared with other things to do, then you will be ready to take action when you feel the urge to munch. Habits are hard to break, but it can be done if you make a plan and give yourself alternative things to do. Best wishes. Keep posting and let us know how you are doing.

| yes, it's the crunchy/salty that gets me too. I can polish off an entire bag of pork rinds, but the thing that makes a huge difference is salted nuts. I had to stop buying them. I buy the unsalted kind now. The salty ones are just too easy to eat!

| yikes! i can totally understand the need to stress eat! i am very much a stress eater. i think i need to learn yoga! you know what i do, though, when i really need a pick-me-up? i get my ipod (or radio, or whatever), i find a quiet spot in the house, and i dance. it burns calories and it ALWAYS makes me feel better! i like all kinds of music, but when i really need to relieve stress, i usually listen to something like Earth Wind & Fire's "Sing a Song" or Stevie Wonder's "Sir Duke." Maybe "Groove is in the Heart" by DeeLite. Who knows - anything that will get you moving!

| Hugs to you!! YOU are not a pig. You're just learning how to eat the right way. Becky is 100% right on target, find out what triggered it. Do you have any stress right now,.....you know......Kids, Kids, Work, Wedding....lol yes you do!! Try to find some Yani time. A hot bubble bath, a walk, computer time, a reward for yourself other than food or a snack. I send lots of positive vibes your way, I know it isn't easy!! !Best of luck, life is good! |

| I ate 3/4 bag of pork rinds my first day on atkins....and haven't had them since (4 1/2 months)....I need to learn the art of moderation as well. I find something I like and I eat it until I am sick of it... first it was jamaica, then califlower...I'm now burning through brocolli...... I decided to go back to induction (CLEAN) and see what happens. I think I was getting a little too lax in serving sizes, nuts, and cream cheese. |

| Your not a pig at all and Im right there with you. I have a bag of those sitting on the counter too and have been eyeing them off to guts down all day. Im also a stress eater but seem to forget that until its to late and ive eaten bad stuff. Im under allot myself right now, I just sold a horse that is being exported back to Australia and as you can imagine Im under great loads of stress and so much to do. Now I know why Im eyeing that bag of pork rhines and I would of ate them too had I not caught myself. Thanks for your post it helped me see what I was "about" to do. Hang in there you will do great and tell yourself to keep your eye on the prize and see yourself how you want to look on your wedding day.

| Calling yourself a pig will never motivate you to change. Guilt is not empowering, it is self-destructive. How we talk to ourselves on Atkins and in life, is extremely important. Love yourself. Speak kindly to yourself - be your own best friend. Pork rinds are a far better choice than regular potato chips, but jicama would be even better. PS. Pigs happen to be lovely animals who don't overeat and are very clean when given the ability to be so. |
