| Hi TabulaRosa84, It is really horrible at first to have to sit and watch people eat all your favourite foods. But PLEASE don't give in and eat them. They won't taste good enough to make up for your disappointment in letting yourself down in your plans to get healthy on this WOL! Once you are through induction you will feel so much more able to resist food - you may even enjoy being able to resist food other people can. It's like willpower is a muscle - build it and it gets so much easier over time. If you want a little bit of accountability - come and join us on the How Long Can you Go thread where we count how long we can go without cheating. Some people set a goal, others just see how far they can get: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ad.php?t=32341 (How Long Can You Go???) Best of luck - and visualise your success, looking glam in Vegas |

| TR, that "I'll start tomorrow" can be a horrible cycle to get caught up in, because tomorrow doesn't come. Make a committment, and just do it! Fill up on induction friendly foods helps a lot! It gets easier, I promise. I was actually able to bake peach cobblers for Easter, put up with that delicious smell in my home, and sit back and watch my family enjoy them without even a taste. Don't think "I'm miserable with these snap peas", think about how good they taste, and how lucky you are to enjoy all this great, filling food and still have the pounds melt off! Keep a picture in your mind of yourself at goal weight, the clothes you will wear, how you will look in photos, etc. |

| Yes... hang in there and it'll get easier. Eat something you really like, that's legal. If you plan ahead and bring foods you love with you, it's not so hard. You can do it!!

| Try to sort out some snacks and meals that you love to eat, to avoid feeling deprived ![]() Maybe something like smoked salmon and cream cheese, or a delicious crustless quiche which will make the others feel they are missing out on something good!

| Easy-peasy, Tabularosa!! Oil or grease an oven dish (I use a 7" diameter one with sloping sides to make it easier to get the finished slices out) Cover the bottom and a little up the sides with grated cheese (I use 3 ounces) Sprinkle cooked meat and/or veggies over that. I then sprinkle some chopped herbs or leeks or spring/green onions over that but you can omit this step if you dont like them In a bowl or jug crack eggs (I use 3) and add double cream/heavy cream (again 3 fluid ounces) and mix together with a fork or whisk. Add any seasonings - I use salt and pepper but you could use spices. Pour the liquid over the dish and put the dish into a medium oven (I set it at about 150 degrees C/300 degrees F) When firm to the touch and brown it is done. In my oven this takes about 40 minutes, but check after 30 to see how it is doing. You can also split the ingredients over some muffin tins to make small individual ones for grab'n'go snacks. These will cook faster. You can also microwave these if you do them in a microwaveable dish but they wont turn out as brown - you can then put them under the grill to brown for a few minutes if you like. They will of course cook faster in the microwave so check every 5 minutes or so.

| Oh, ill be lucky if i can make it to morning. I try to only weigh myself in the am but its hard cuz the scale is in my parents bathroom, not mine. So everyone is getting ready in the am and by the time i can get in there i will have already eaten breakfast and gotten ready and wont want to see the scale after that. But i might sneak in tomorrow...who knows. |
