| It is SO a huge deal! Congratulations! Saying no to those sweets is the hardest thing to do for the first time. As you progress it gets a lot easier, but the first step is always the most difficult. Nearly cried myself when I passed on chocolate the first time it was offered to me after starting Atkins. Lord, it can be a heavy burden, but one that's sooo worth it in the end. Way to go! Give yourself a huge pat on the back. The first "no" is one you'll always remember and is a huge indication of your commitment to changing your life. Best of luck! ~Far la bella figura!

| It is a HUGE deal!! I have survived almost 6 weeks without a taste of sugar, mostly by avoidance - I might cry if someone were to eat a cupcake in front of me. But I feel so much better and it's awesome fitting into small clothes. Keep going!!!

| Ahhh Christina....are you kidding? That's wonderful! What a difficult temptation you avoided. Good for you! Just repeat that action whenever you have to...now you know you can. You ARE stronger. |

| OOH! Thank you guys so much for responding! I told my sister just now that I said no to cake, and she actually cheered! She knows how much I loved sweets. I mean, she KNOWS! She has seen me go into panic mode when there was no chocolate in the house. I feel so good. I tell you, I know this board is going to be my saving grace! Again, thanks for responding! |

| I truly know how you feel, I would go grocery shopping and I was fine as long as I bought plenty of desserts. Dh would ask "what are we having for meals" and I would think to myself "who knows - I have cookies and that is all that matters" lol - how sick of me!

| I too am fairly new to the ADBB and totally addicted to reading the posts and all the recipies. I am so fortunate to have found this place and all its supportive members. A GREAT BIG HOOOORAY to you for passing up the cake. I too am a sweet-o-holic so I know how difficult it is to avoid this temptation. Actually, for me its the hardest part of this eating lifestyle. I am so addicted to white sugar that I think I might be going through withdrawal as I have gotten a headache at night the last several days. But. alas, it will all be worth it. I know realistically I may never be skinny, but then again, I don't want to be skinny. I just want to be able to buy clothes in the regular size department, look better and feel better. This time its for ME! Keep up the good work! Stay Sweet |

| My husband would ask me how I spent over $200 in groceries, but we only had stuff to make dinner for 3 nights. Now we know.... |
