| Hello there! I know that you are not supposed to have anything with artifical sweetner, as it can cause a stall. With this way of eating, you should be getting plenty of protein from your foods. Too much protein is not good, and turns into fat. So, I think you will be fine without the supplement, maybe even better without the artifical sweetner. Just a thought. I used to drink that stuff too, I love lifting weights, but feel alot healther now with good protein from meat and eggs. Again just a thought, I'm no expert thats for sure |

| i don't think this is induction friendly. the label shows 3 carbs for each serving, i don't think you should waste carbs on a protein shake.you could eat 3 eggs and get some of your protein from them also. tuna is another great thing to eat for protein. just my thoughts, good luck in your journey moniegail

| Hi Pball, During induction you are allowed up to 20 carbs a day. I looked at your shake's ingredients and it contains 3 grams of carbs which isn't really a lot if you are only going to have 1 a day. However, perhaps you would do better by supplementing your protein with a protein source such as a couple of boiled eggs-which are allowed. Part of the idea of this WOE is to try and eliminate the processed stufff and get back to basics. So basically, I don't think it would be a big no-no (hopefully someone who is an expert will answer this for you on this board) but considering you should be detoxing your system the sweetener might add to cravings you're trying to get rid of and a less processed supplement (ie-tuna-cheese-whatever) would be better. Good luck and congrats on your decision to get healthier! ! |

| Pepper Jack is fine from what I have read on these boards - any hard aged cheese is allowed. Although you might find you have less energy when starting induction many of us lift weights and even run marathons (see ttdriver's posts!!) while following Atkins by the book, our body gets its energy from the fat and protein as well as the controlled carbs we eat. I regularly lift heavy weights (up to 3 sets of 12 reps at 110-115 kgs/240-250 pounds on the Seated Leg Press machine now!!) without any 'protein supplementing' - just eating whole unprocessed foods. Pop in to the Exercise forum and ask what other big exercisers are doing and how they coped to get some reassurance.
