I'm no expert by I belive you did fine for your second day. Chicken is so much better then something carby. Did you have any veggies with your chicken? That might have helped feel you up. Since you didn't have any sugar, it won't be long now before your cravings should go away and then you'll be able to eat a normal portion. I find when I have a sweet craving I eat something really fatty (half an advocado, piece of cheese). Sometimes I nibble on something like that while I'm fixing dinner if I'm really hungry. Drinking all that water is a good thing

You're doing just fine. Don't let yourself get too obsessive. It may take some time to learn how to eat and to get rid of your cravings. Remember, this is a way of life, not a race. Just continue to eat foods from the acceptable list, in portions that fill you up comfortably, and the rest will take care of itself.

I cannot see any problem with what you ate except for the fact that you couldn't really control your portion there If this stays a one time thing in terms of portion control and you eat more veggies with your meat in future, it will all fall into place with time. you can never have the perfect carb, fat, protein mix all the time, what people use on these boards are just general guide lines. Of course you shouldn't eat toooooo much protein but that will adjust with more veggies as well. That 1 carb over the 20 isn't gonna mess your induction up or anything. go back to eating normal portions and you'll do just fine

When you say "fried chicken" was it breaded? We need to be cautious with those hidden carbs and I want you to be aware of them. During induction I think we tend to overeat. It is ok, as long as you stay within your carb boundries. You will find your appetite deminish as time goes on. I think I ate a ton the first few days of induction. Anything to not eat those bad carbs. You will adjust to it as long as you listen to what your body tells you. When you are full, stop eating. (adding veggies is also important for alot of reasons) Be thankful you are a water drinker. That helps with weight loss imensely!!! You don't need to be sorry about drinking any amount AT ALL. It flushes your body of bad stuff and helps to make you feel full. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the reassurance guys. No the chicken wasnt breaded. I think I was just trying to get that yearning for sweets out my head and overdid the portion size. I had a cup of vegetable with it as well so I did get that in too. I am glad I got rid of those unacceptable foods because I dont know if I wouldn't have given in to them yesterday. The guilt I felt last night was terrible. Today I feel better. Thankfully I havent gotten those dreadful headaches yet. I have occasional migraines and I know enough to know I have to try to prevent getting a "normal" one. I have been carrying a thermos of broth to work and I drink from it throughout the day to avoid them. My teas have more carbs than the broth so I am not going there right now.

| Hi chriskar, I eat unheard of amounts of chicken and it never causes me any problems. I even buy breaded fried chicken and just take the breading off, it's never caused me a problem. In fact, the first time I did Atkins, I lost 30 pounds in less than 3 months and probably ate a half a rotissary chicken almost every day. Chicken should definitely not hurt you (as long as you don't eat any breading that is).
