| Hey Shannon.... I think you need to cut down the calories a little and up the carbs a bit. NOT MUCH but a little. 3000 calories in a day is a LOT for anyone, irregardless of your diet. You need to eat carbs in the form of VEGGIES for a tonne of reasons. Firstly, i ACTUALLY helps you lose. Secondly, you need veggies (obviously) and thirdly, you're going to be so constipated in 2 days you'l want to cry. All sweetened has a carb count. I think each can of diet soda is about '3' carbs worth of sweetener.... also, watch out on the cheese, i think you're having a little too much. Did you cook anything with your meat other than onion? Garlic perhaps? Everything counts. You would DEFINATELY BENEFIT from changing a few things: cut out at lease one soda, eat MORE salad - and actualy SALAD. lettuce is 80% water and is NOT what you're after. Eat cucumber, peppers, celery, mushrooms etc. look at the list. Something with more substance... and eat 2 cups worth. With your meat a dinner, have a cup of steamed brocolli or some other legal veggie. This is a high fat diet, but not a ONLY FAT diet. That amount of salt, fat and oil will make you feel like crap and is not a good idea long term. Just my 2 cents! Love Dot

| I agree with Dot - salad does not = lettuce, try some of the higher carb veggies on the allowed list if you can, and makeuse of the one-cup list too to get some more carbs in. We are allowed up to 3 servings of sweetener a day which should include drinks and desserts, so I think you are overdoing those. Try to find ones not sweetened with aspartame if you can, as Dr Atkins warned us against that particular sweetener. BTW one serving for drinks is usually reckoned to be one cup (8 fluid ounces) so a 12 ounce drink has 1.5 servings of sweetener in it.

| I just realised I hadnt answered your main question Eating less than 20 carbs is not going to hurt you, I am sure, as the number is a maximum. However we are supposed to get 'most' of the carbs we eat from our veggies, so if you only eat a few carbs of them you are limiting the number of other carbs like those in eggs, cheese, sweeteners etc that you can eat and stick to the rules. We recently had a 'eat your veggies' challenge where many people managed to increase their veg carbs to 12 net carb, so it can be done

| Until yesterday, when I started the first rung of OWL, I was ALWAYS at 13 carbs, net, per day. Never a problem. HOWEVER..........you should be consuming more than 2 grams of fiber in that. A GOOD 13 grams of carbs would be about 20 total, with 7 of fiber to be subtracted. You are not eating enough veggies. There is no way you can have only 2 fiber grams if you are following this WOE. Absolutely none. You are sabotaging yourself if you don't eat the veggies properly. Long term healthwise, and shorter term weight loss wise. |

| Also, I think I saw carrots there, they are not one of the allowed veggies. By the way, welcome!
