EmDee, real crabmeat is OK. I think you have Krab meat which is artificial and has sugar.

I found the product on-line ~ what a mistake this purchase was! A good lesson about reading labels....I just thought "Crabmeat is on the okay list" without really looking at what I was getting! ![]() INGREDIENTS: Alaska Pollock, Water, Egg Whites, Wheat Starch, Sugar, Corn Starch, Sorbitol, contains 2% or less of the following: King Crab Meat, Natural and Artificial Flavor, Extracts of Crab, Oyster, Scallop, and Fish, Rice Wine (rice, water, koji, yeast, salt), Modified Tapioca Starch, Salt, Carrageenan, Yam Flour, Hydrolyzed Soy, Corn and Wheat Proteins, Disodium Inosinate and Guanylate, Sodium Pyrophosphate, Color. I guess I will be tossing out that crabmeat salad and going off to find something else to eat for lunch today! I'm glad I noticed it this morning, before I totally blew my induction...

Yeah, I was going to buy some the other day and flipped the package over to look at the ingredients (that's become a habit with me now) and was also suprised at what was in it.

Wow. After eating "clean" for the past several days, reading that ingredient list just completely grossed me out. Could you ever imagine making something like that from scratch in your home? I mean, really, think about it - would you ever make a recipe that called for all those ingredients? It really makes you think. I think half the weight loss on Atkins comes not from low carb, but from eating foods in their whole state.
