| Check out: http://www.atkins.com/articles/atkin...eptable-foods/ There is an easy way to start atkins on a student budget. No bread, no chips, no potatoes, no alcohol, no rice, no starch, no breading on your fish. Burgers no buns, can you grill out doors? A lot of eggs, canned fish, lettuce is great, cheese is good (not too much). If you are really worried about the sugar in sausage, pick the one with the lowest sugar, or hot sausage does not have a lot of sugar.

| I've lost 26 lbs. without once even touching a sausage. You don't need them - they're not even very healthy. |

| Yeah, somethings like sausages can be hard to find but really, with so many other options out there, who needs em? There's always something else legal and tasty to eat. |

| yep, you can live without sausage, there is so much choice....especially when you move to OWL. And you can eat all the meat you want Anyway, even without the illegal ingredients, most sausages contain a lot of sodium which can make you retain water...meaning your weightloss wont be acurate. I'm sure you can do this

| Try McDonalds, double cheeseburger X the bun. Cooking foods on the acceptable list also works well for me! Hope this is helpful!

| Make your own sausages! I just buy minced (ground) pork or chicken, add whatever spices/herbs I fancy, mix in one raw egg white and 2 tablespoons of bran per lb of meat and then shape the mix into sausage shapes. Chill for a few hours before cooking - it sets the shape. You can be quite inventive with flavouring. I usually add nutmeg, black pepper, cayenne pepper, parsley and a little mustard. You can also grate some cheese into the mix, add chopped chives or onion, garlic or even a little curry powder (quite good with the chicken ones). A grated apple through the pork is nice too - if you are at the point where you are allowed apple. I'd love a proper sausage maker - maybe I'll treat myself to one soon - although it can be hard here to find casings to buy. But even without casings, these are lovely, so I'm not sure I could be bothered with the fiddliness. I tend to make a big batch and freeze most of them. They are great for gettng fussy kids to eat good healthy meat too - much better than bought sausages for them.

| I bought a home sausagemaker kit at a charity shop last month - unused with some sausage casings too and have been having fun making them for my husband who loves 'dogs'. As he doesnt like spicy food much I just make them with plain minced belly pork and no additives apart from some salt and pepper - no binders or fillers at all. Sausage skins and sausage making kits are available in UK but the fancy stuffing gadgets are fairly pricy. I did find a small mincer with sausage stuffing nozzles cheaply at www.weschenfelder.co.uk Though they do mainly push the more professional machines on their site, their household mincer is only £16.95 and comes complete with sausage-stuffing nozzles! http://www.weschenfelder.co.uk/produ...roducts_id=290 They also sell a variety of casings.
