| When I was a newbie to ADBB, we had a member who was part of the Duke University Atkins study. According to this person, Dr. Atkins limited pork rinds to 1 cup daily for the study subjects. Pork rinds are also high in sodium. If you are salt-sensitive, that extra sodium might worsen any medical problems (like high blood pressure) and might cause you to retain water---which will interfer when you weigh yourself on the scale on Day 14. See if you lose 4 pounds of fat, but retain 4 pounds of water, that scale will register as no weight gained or lost. Frankly, if you are a crunchy snack addict, you might want to use your Atkins as an opportunity to rid yourself of the bad eating habits that caused you to gain weight in the first place. Many of us snack/eat out of boredom or habit and that adds up on our thighs and waists....

| I eat about a cup a day. I also crunch them up and use it to bread meats and other items.

| Thanks, I don't have a problem doing a cup a day.. I usually do it as a snack at night since I am a snacker before bed.. I was just wondering why we had a limit since it doesn't have any carbs. I started Monday and I have already lost 6 lbs.. I am so happy!!! |
