| I'm in the UK and unsure what edition I have, I suspect is a UK version of the old diet. What are the main differences between the old and 2002 diet during induction? I'm already on day 5, and worried I may be eating off the wrong plan. I was going to order the 2002 online, but I think I should go to a bookshop to see if I can get an UK edition of it. |

I have the '85 version as well as the 2002, and the three big differences are 1) the 2002 emphasis is on vegetables and 2) the '85 version allows you to add back food in whatever order you want, while the 2002 has a "ladder" 3) the '85 version has just a tiny mention of fiber being deducted from the count and even his recipes don't subtract the fiber.....ending result that in the 2002 version, you actually get more overall carbs. | That's great, thanks. It explains a lot why I was confused about some of the threads here! |

| You should be able to get a 2002 (2003 in UK btw) edition of DANDR in most charity shops. The version I see lots of has a bright orangey-red cover with a blue strip at the top with the words 'Completely updated! The must-have NEW edition Including the 'Lifetime Maintenance Plan' printed on it.

| You know what is really confusing? Do a search for Atkins and you get Atkins Nutritionals. They break down the diet very well too, but it is different. For one the induction foods are different and the Atkins bars and shakes are allowed during induction. I did it by the book years ago with great success. When I went back to it recently I went by the Atkins Site and even though I still have lost about 8 pounds in 2 weeks I notice that the bars knock me out of ketosis. Argggh. |

| The new Atkins site annoys me royally. Some ad writer got paid a lot of money, 'sweet sexy science' my patootie. Welcome to the board Kierr! feel free to share your experience with bars with others when they ask, 'can we eat bars?' Congrats on your losses!

| I love all things testimonials. I am struggling. I bought "the book" and have been following it to the best of my ability. I will re-read and possibly use to "resistance" plan. I lost 10 pounds the first week and have only lost 2 the next six weeks. Any thoughts???? Vic |
