| I would keep it up, that little gain doesnt mean too much. Could be water weight, could mean many things. You will start going back down. Try not to worry too much and feel proud of yourself for getting back on the Adkins wagon rather then letting go of your hard work so far!

| 1) exercise 2) drink a lot of water 3) don't beat yourself up 4) try harder next tomorrow and remember and use the regret you are experiencing now. 5) if you fall down again , get up , dust yourself off, and keep going. (we all have made mistakes, no one is perfect)

| Yes, you have to keep going. If this means restarting induction, so let it be. Be very determined to follow the plan and loose these extra pounds. And please, PLAN AHEAD! If you know you are going to a rock concert, going watch football, baseball, etc, make sure you plan ahead (what if I get hungry, what do I do, etc), take a backup with you, small bag of permissible food. This way it would be more difficult to cheat. Planning is the key here.

| More than likely it's water weight! Nachos are very salty. Just stick to plan and it will come back off again in no time.

The most important thing aside from getting back on the diet is to figure out why you fell off. Believe me, as you go through Atkins there will be times when you will be tempted to fall off. So you ought to sit down and figure out what happened that made you fall off this time and then figure out strategies to avoid it in the future.

| You really don't have to start induction all over again if you don't want to. and u will still lose weight. I learned that. I started Atkins on November 1st. did so so good. didn't cheat except for with nuts b/c I didn't know about the rungs. Learned my lesson. Gained some water weight from the salt. Lost it in a couple of days later. Did so so good. Thanksgiving completely destroyed me. don't tell, I had pecan pie. Gained 2-3 lbs. My advise would NOT be to mess up your diet consistantly. But every now and then mistakes happen to teach us the right lessons we need to use in order to continue this diet for life. STOP beating yourself right now!!!! Seriously. It doesn't help one bit!!!! I thought I had to be perfact for this to work also. But that is incorrect. My mistakes 1) encouraged me to join more of the challenges on this board. and 2) especially motivated me to get working out!!! Because diet and movement!! go together, to catch us when we fall. Stay optimistic. Don't start cutting fat or veggies. Pick up where you left off minus the nachos..lol. I can't wait to hear you report your future losses!!!!!!!!! bye |

| Hello everyone and thanks for the warm support.. I really feel a lot better .. whew I was really hard on myself there for a minute lol. I just wanted to thank everyone for the encouragement and to say I read int Dr. Atkins book a section that said... When you cheat it only takes one day to gain 2-3 lbs back because of sodium and the sky rocket of your glucose. Also it said it will take 48-72 hours after you cheat for your glucose and carb level to return to low levels and kick start Ketosis again. That makes me feel better I thought I ruined it for myself.. I'm going to post on here next week and see if I lose any more weight. Again thanks for the support! |
