| I love Hot Wings which ones are you eating? I really like the super hot kind but the only kind I find are the milder ones. Your tastebuds will eventually get tired of them, but you better eat your veggies forced is okay, just eat them or you'll get as constipated as politician |

| Heidi If you're on Induction you need to be tracking your veggie intake for net carbs (carbs minus fibre), and should be at 12 - 15 net carbs from veggies alone! Here's a pic of 18 net grams of carbs from veggies...(17-20 net grams when you're doing OWL) There are: slices of jicama, green pepper strips, red pepper rings, flowerets of broccoli and cauliflower, leaves of romaine lettuce, 6 asparagas, and 4 cherry tomatoes. I took this pic when I did one of the veggie challenges they had here, just as a look-see for an example of what 18 net grams of carbs could be. So I ate that, plus my protein and fat all in a day and when I behaved and stuck to it, I dropped 4 clothing sizes! You gotta eat your veggies! ![]() |

| I agree with MorningGlory...make sure to get all your veggies in. When I first started Atkins I didn't eat enough of them but now I prefer them to most everything else. |

As for eggs and bacon, if you don't like them, don't eat them. On Atkins any meat is fair game. You don't have to limit yourself to chicken, bacon and eggs. Same goes for the vegetables. There are a over 50 vegetables on the Induction Acceptable Foods list. About 20 vegetables are on the "salad" list. Lettuce is "crunchy water". It has very little fiber, very little vitamins and minerals. In other words, it's a nutritional waste of time. It's better for your general health to eat some of the other veggies on that list.

| Hi All, thanks for the replies! The hot wings I'm hooked on are plain chicken wings that I just am putting tabasco sauce on -- zero carbs. I realize the importance of veggies -- and I actually love veggies. This is not why I wrote -- the reason for my post was that my appetite has strangly focused on these hot wings lately and I am having a very hard time trying to eat anything else. I'm like addicted to them....... Thanx |

You have to remember too that the labeling laws in the US allow manufacturers to "round up" or "round down" numbers. So something might have 0.2 carb grams per teaspoon serving, but they can list it as "0" carbs. That would mean if you ate a tablespoon and a half of it, it would need to be counted as 1 carb, rather than 0. Also, if those wings are triggering something in you to over-eat, then you might need to drop them from your diet. It could be that the peppers are a trigger food for you. Yes, I realize that peppers are "legal", but many of us on OWL have found that "legal" foods are trigger foods for us. For example, eating any food that combines eggplant and tomatoes makes me want to eat the contents of an entire house---including the copper pipes and ceramic tiles. But other people have no problem eating eggplant and tomato dishes. I don't look at it as a "curse", because it's a relief to know how my body reacts to that food combination and I can, therefore, make better food choices. It's all very individual how our bodies react to different foods. So if the combination of chicken and hot peppers triggers you to keep wanting to eat them, set them aside and see what happens.

| I'll let you join my subsection of Atkins called Wingkins. I've been eating hot wings almost every night for the past seven months! I'm sure most people will think that's crazy but they hit the spot for me. I use Frank's red hot sauce and buy fresh wings. The real problem is the cost. Occasionally I do have other things but wings are so easy and fast to make and taste great!

| HeidiK, I love wings too. Are you making them yourself? Because I know every restaurant uses fillers, sauces, sweets in their cooking. Read the book, you need to remember the rules of induction: http://www.atkins.com/articles/atkin...s-of-induction Quote:
Good luck, I know you can do it!!!
