| Welcome to ADBB! Yes, it's net carbs. Liberally means you don't need to measure the amount you eat, but the book also says to eat to appetite, which means don't eat excessively, just what satisfies your hunger. After a few days of clean by the rules induction you will find that liberally will mean much less than you imagine, as appetite suppression kicks in and you are not hungry very often.

| As Kat said, we deduct the fibre carbs to get 'net' carbs as described in DANDR. However there are some 'lowcarb' products out there which claim low 'net carb' counts and might even state are 'legal' for induction but are not because of some of the ingredients!! So make sure you look at the list of ingredients and assure yourself they are ALL listed on the list of allowed foods before deciding to include them in your induction menus. As far as I know ALL of the bars around are NOT induciton legal once you look at the list of ingredients !

The point being, if you will maintain this for life, you need to make eating something you do for pure fuel for your body, not for emotions or celebration. Little soapbox there, sorry, but simply put, soon if you stick right to the program you wont be hungry enough to binge anymore.. But make sure you still eat 3 meals a day minimum! -C |
