| Hi, I'm with you. I was also going to start monday, but the other poster convinced me to start a day early. I'm 40 yrs old with 4 children (9 yrs,8 yrs,2.5yrs & 1 yr). I'm currently in my final year of medical school in Europe and working part-time as an adjunct professor. This year brings big changes for our family. I must re-write my medical board exams to be able to work in the States and we are relocating to some (as yet) unknown city in the U.S. My weight is an ongoing struggle and I've gained about 10 pounds with each child and then some. I did Atkins sucessfully before I found out I was pregnant with my 3rd child. Due to my pregnancy I went off the program. I became pregnant again (the miraculous conception according to my husband) with our 4th child and am now finished with having children and ready to get my body AND soul back in shape. This journey has been a long and difficult one - living here has been so hard in so many ways and medical school with 4 kids has been a day by day challenge. I think the stress has created a lot of negative patterns in my life which I need to resolve. My weight is always on my mind - mental energy that could be used productively. It drives my thinking and I live for chocolate, licorice etc. Everyday I vow to lose weight and change my ways and everyday I don't. I've 'started' atkins for the past 10 days - each day ending with a great piece of toast with honey and peanut butter... I've read the book but loaned it to a friend and never got it back so I tried to rely on my memory of the induction rules. But now, thanks to the site, I've printed out the rule for induction and thus am ready to go. So, today I've done things a bit differently: 1. I joined this forum to gain and give support to others on this difficult but pressing journey 2. vowed to stop bugging my husband about my issues - and instead bug all of you! 3. I took my measurements - first time for this 4. I'm committed to looking at the scale just every other week. I find the scale rules my life and if I've been good and not lost weight I just say 'what the $#*& - I didn't lose anything anway so I might as well have this _________ (fill in the blank). 5. I've located my gym clothes and plan to go tommorrow. All those fit people scare me, but I've got to start. 6. I printed off the induction rules So, that's it for me. I look forward to hearing about your daily trials and tribulations. I plan to log on once a day. So, here's to a clean (I love that word) induction. Let's do it. S- |
