Arrow Salad Dressings

Hey, all y'all!

I've done a search & I'm not finding an answer to my question about salad dressing that is acceptable on induction. I did another WOE low carb a few years ago & it said eat basically whatever dressing you like. I really want to do Atkins right.

I have a bottle of Marie's blue cheese dressing but I'm afraid to use it. I think it has 1 or 2 net carbs per serving. Today I had no dressing but I know I won't make it doing that for long. Oil & vinegar was suggested in the book but I'm not sure if I can do that daily either.

Granted it's just 14 day until I can add a little here & there, surely, I can make it!

Thanks for any tips you can give me.

Marie's blue cheese, Creamy garlic and ranch dressings are fine. I use them all the time.

Your salad dressing is part of your induction.
Check every label, not just dressing. I mean every label of every thing you eat.
So, if you make your own, oil and vinegar is great because it has low.
I use Ken's steak house dressing, Caesar has no carbs, Blue cheese has 1 carb.
I am well aware if I a serving is one tablespoon and I putting about a quarter cup, I have to check my math.
I blend the dressing, with Mayo, olive oil, water, and white vinegar, which has no or trace carbs.

Good Luck.

I'm also a fan of the Ken's dressing. I use the Ranch, it only has one carb. The Kraft and Hidden Valley Ranch both have two carbs, so I think I found a winner in Ken's! Just make sure to measure your servings, because I know I can tend to go overboard on dressing if I'm not measuring it all out.

THANKS! I needed a little reassurance about not just having oil & vinegar.

Have a great Sunday!

There are 3 brands I have found to be very good:
Ken's brand - 0 and more carbs depending on the dressing
Walden Farm Brand - all 0 carbs
Wishbone brand Salad Spritzers - 1 net carb

I use Marie's Blue cheese and have not had any issues! Thank god for it too, sometimes you just need some strong flavor to keep ya going!

You could also make your own. I make a blue cheese dressing with mayo, sour cream, really good blue cheese, and a little fresh lemon juice or apple cider vinegar to taste, plus salt & pepper. That base, minus the cheese, is also good for all kinds of other dressings, especially if you have one of the small food processors (the kind with the stick top) that makes a cup or so of stuff. Fresh herbs (parsley, basil, etc) and a little fresh garlic is nice too. Buttermilk is nice in these dressings also. Salad dressings in general are not hard to make, and worth it.

Thanks. Happy to help! Another great thing for salad dressings is sherry vinegar. Not easy to find here but you might be more able to find it in the UK, since presumably much of it comes from Spain. I much prefer it to balsamic. It's so unusual that of course the nutrition info is hard to find (and of course on induction I'm not using it, sigh), but I'd guess no more than a couple of carbs per serving. When we're in Costa Rica I make my coleslaw dressing with mayo, cumin, and fresh lime juice, since limes cost almost nothing there. It's really good.
(edit) just found info for sherry vinegar, yup, 2 carbs per tablespoon.

cheerio,
Sue
