| Stop obsessing. Those percentages are only guidelines. Some time ago, the moderators here used to make a big deal out of them because there were plenty of people who were used to eating low fat and had trouble eating enough fat. It takes very little fat to make a meal "high fat". There's a stickie thread above that goes through it in more detail. Those numbers are taken from the nutritional analysis of an Atkins study done by Duke University when Dr. Atkins was still alive. Again, it's a guideline for folks who have been thoroughly brainwashed by the low fat diets that they have a hard time naturally adding any kind of fat to their diets.

| The thread Megs mentioned is here http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ad.php?t=17102 (How much fat do I need to eat?) and gives some good suggestions.

| i am becoming increasingly angry with myself. i have been on and off induction since jan 16, and when im on im super on, but this wkend i eat drank and was merry- until this last night when i was a bloated, hungover mess. so i woke up with new motivation not to do that anymore, and even set a strict goal to be slimmer by feb 17th (my bfs yearly work party) and reward myself with a new dress. but today, i plugged all my numbers into fitday and come out with 78, 5, 18. im so frustrated and i have no one to blame but me. thankfully i read the post that elizellen had written and checked the sticky. i guess it wasnt the worst way to go about my day, but here's to KNOWING tommorrow will be better. (sorry for the complaining.) thanks.

To be honest, we have NO control at all over whether our body will co-operate and lose weight according to any timetable - we CAN control other things though which will help our body do what we want instead. So how about setting goals that you can achieve by your own choices like: Stay on plan for X days Drink XX amount of water Exercise xx minutes on X days a week Achieve one or all of these goals and I am sure your body will be kind and let itself lose fat!!

| I agree with Elizellen wholeheartedly. I made myself a promise at the beginning that the only thing I wanted out of my first week of Induction was to be cheat-free so that I could tell myself I was committed to changing my eating habits forever. When I weighed in yesterday, after that first week, the weight loss seemed like a bonus because I had accomplished the goal that I had COMPLETE control over, having a cheat-free week. You can do it. Be kind and forgiving to yourself and you will get there.
