| johnnysmom, We are only supposed to have 2-3 tbsp of cream a day during induction and also I have read that caffiene effects some peoples weight loss. I would definately cut back on both of them. Also SF Jello that you buy out in the stores I believe contains that aspartame (sp?), and that also effects some peoples weight loss. I found this recipe for No carb Jello off of Linda's web site that you might want to try, and it is induction legal too. http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/no_carb_jello.html |

| Beverages clear broth/bouillon (not all brands; read the label) club soda cream (heavy or light); limit to two to three tablespoons a day; note carbohydrate content decaffeinated coffee or tea diet soda made with sucralose (Splenda®) essence-flavored seltzer (must say "no calories" and must not contain aspartame) herb tea (without barley or any fruit sugar added) lemon juice or lime juice (note that each contains 2.8 grams carbohydrate per ounce); limit to two to three tablespoons mineral water spring water water *Excessive caffeine may cause unstable blood sugar and should be avoided by those who suspect they are caffeine dependent. Everyone should try to avoid caffeine. Grain beverages (coffee substitutes) are not allowed. Alcoholic beverages are also not permitted during Induction; those low in carbohydrates are an option, in moderation, in later phases. I copied and pasted here off of a post from a "Kent". Some good info to consider. |

| Wow Tim, you lost 10lbs the first week! WTG!!! I noticed your goal is aroudn 50% weight loss so when you're finished are you going to write to People Magazine and be in their "Half Their Size" issue? I'll look for you!Aspartame, too much cheese, not enough veggies, not reading the labels - sounds like the usual suspects. Nancy - The 57 lbs - I lost those from October 2004 - June, 2005 and I've been maintaining them ever since. I think Crystal Light counts 1 carb for every 8 oz (maybe 6oz) so don't forget to count those (I'm sure you already know this). What I didn't say is that I, too, gained back a pound on day 4, so your gain is not unprecedented.

| Hey, I'm on Day 5 and I lost 5-lbs then gained one! Only, I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Or am I doing anything wrong? Here are some possibilities: Maybe I need to up my veggies? (I eat 2 cups daily) Maybe it's the coffee? (Day 2 & 3 i had a small cup w/ cream, Day 4 I had a small decaf w/ cream and Day 5 (today) I had a green tea in the morning). According to Fitday, here's my breakdown for the past 3 days: Total: 1327 calories Fat: 69% Carbs: 4% (15g) Protein: 27% Total: 1426 calories Fat: 66% Carbs: 3% (12g) Protein: 32% Total: 1386 calories Fat: 68% Carbs: 3% (14g) Protein: 29% Any ideas? |

| its the same principal as basting the meat. aka squeezing the juices ove it. Well in the cas of some peoplre and restaurants they baste from the inside. Putting a mixture of acidic things like lemonjuice in a syringe and injecting the meat with it will make it much MUCH more tender if you let it sit for a day or 2 after injection. |

it must be really cheap a$$ steak if they need to inject it.... also...when someone orders a steak, they assume they are getting just meat....I think it's wrong to just arbitrarily toss stuff in that you wouldn't reasonably expect to be there....I certainly wouldn't have thought to ask my server if my food was injected with off-the-wall additives..... I've owned and managed restaurants for many years, and I would never feed someone something without their knowledge. |
