| Carb pinching was hard for me on Induction too. Surprising how the five more carbs on rung 1 make it so much easier. Do you care for Pork rinds? They're salty, so I wouldn't eat too many, but it's a no carb crunchy treat. Like eating chips.

| Sheena, are you eating your allotment of cheese daily? You're allowed 3-4 ounces on induction. You could have had a slice of cheese for a snack. Meat would have been OK too. When I was on induction I'd keep a bowl of tuna salad in the fridge and it was easy to put a scoop of tuna on a lettuce leaf and munch on that when I felt snacky. I don't think you did anything wrong by having 2 inches of cucumber, but by all means if you are hungry, you should eat something. |

| Sheena, can you post a menu so we can see how you went over? You are counting NET carbs arent you? and not just carbs?

| Ya I don't mind posting my menu for yesterday, I'm pretty sure I was at my cheese limit. I've never had pork rinds before I'll have to try them. I'll be sure to make some kind of salad that is easily accessable for this weekend. I'm a weekend cheater or at least that's always been my downfall so I'm going to be very prepared this weekend so I don't do anything stupid!!! Breakfast: 3.5 egg omelette with a thin slice of onions, two small mushrooms, 2oz cheddar, 2 pieces of bacon. Decaff coffee with 2tbsp light cream and 3/4 tsp sugar (I know this is bad, it's getting way less and I wasn't able to get stevia yet, this weekend I'll have a car) Lunch: 2 eggs, 2 pieces of bacon. (I usually have a salad with chicken but it was 2:00 by the time I thought of food and I was so busy this was fast) Supper: 10 butter garlic shrimp, cucumber tomato salad in oil and vinegar, ceaser salad with homemade dressing (garlic, mayo, oil, egg, parm cheese, salt, pepper, tobasco) Oh and am I suppose to be watching my salt I never read that? I'm a salt freak and probably oversalt everything. I know that retains water, but does it retain fat loss?? Thanks again!!!! |

| So here's the thing. I looked on Fitday and it says that in one tsp of sugar there are 4.2g precious carbs. If I were you, I'd start drinking that coffee without sugar. For one, it's taking up over 4 precious carbs that you can have in veggies. Secondly, if you still have sugar in your system you're going to have fluctuation in your blood sugar levels. Thirdly, you may not have the effect of Ketosis which may explain why you were still hungry. I would advise that you get Splenda or whatever brand you may have where you live ASAP. And also, just so you know, inductions sets the pace for how quickly you will be losing the rest of your journey. It's a pretty good indicator, so you may want to stop the sugar consumption. Are you keeping a Fitday journal? You really should, it's very helpful. Salt is bad for you, I would definitely not oversalt from now on. |

| Ditch the sugar! As for the salt intake, I think your tastebuds will begin to "sharpen" and change drastically in the upcoming weeks. Foods will have more taste to them, you'll notice natural sweetness and other flavors that have been hidden to you before, and you'll probably begin to use less salt and seasonings. If you feel like you're oversalting, begin reducing the amount you use in your foods.

| *Gasp* Lousy coffee lol. Ouch!! I didn't realize that so little sugar had so much carbs!!! I don't think I can cut out the coffee. I'm up with the kids at 6am and usually I don't go to bed until 11:30 or later, so I'm not getting enough sleep, and it really is beneficial most mornings. I used to drink it all day long and now I'm down to one cup, cause I want the sugar. I pick up Stevia tomorrow so that will eliminate all my sugar. Plus I plan on restarting my two week induction when I get it so that if the sugar is effecting my ketosis my body will have the chance to correct it. Even still I wasn't counting the sugar, I didn't realize it had carbs. I do have some good snack ideas now though. |

| Carbs are sugar. Have you read the book yet, I know it would help you a lot.

| And if you use heavy cream - you will add less carbs (and may get away with using less). That is what I do. I really enjoy my cup of "lousy"
