I got really sick the three times I did induction and I tell you, it is almost a deal breaker isn't it? I am fine now but it was tough a few weeks ago. Just try to have something to drink, you can do broths, they make you feel good. I liked grilled chicken, that was soothing to me. I don't know how your stomach feels but something spicy will help your congestion like hot wings with some Marie's Bleu cheese dressing. Something that I like also that is nice for your tummy is some fresh mozarella cheese in slices with tomatoes, with some chopped fresh basil then drizzle olive oil over it and salt and pepper. Very good. Just be sure not to exceed your 3 oz of cheese. When I needed something cruncy, I had a few pork rinds. I used them in the beginning to get over some of my cravings for snacky foods then slowly dropped them away as my hunger decreased. I hope you get to feeling better. -hugs-

You can boil some veggies in water or broth and make a delicious veggie soup which will be comforting and filling during your illness. Add alittle meat to it and you have a complete meal.

i know, it can be tough when you are sick. you can have broth, or if you are up to it, make chicken soup. some store bought soups may have more carbs so be sure to check lables - although i get a chicken soup from whole foods that has 4 grams of carbs per serving. its just chicken and veggies, no rice or noodles, so that keeps the carb count down. scrambled eggs are easy to make and easy on the stomach... and of course you can make tea and drink that - i always find it very soothing when i'm sick! hope you feel better soon.

lets see if i were sick and still in induction I would be killing the mock cheese danish every day, zucchinni and squash, greens, and okra. I am really big on the Bigelow brand Flavored teas and my flavor of the month is Bigelow Vanilla Carmel tea. This tea is freaking awesome with creme. depending on if you have diarrhea you may want to avoid onions and broccoli as they cause gas. as far as coughing goes I would say use salt water to gargle with as the saline solution helps to lessen throat irritation also drink plenty of fluids. Try the half of avacado we allowed per day, it is high in good fats and is very gentle on the stomach, filling and tasty. If you get a sweet tooth try half a square of baking chocolate and a pack of splenda or 2oz melted creme cheese with a pack of splenda. mmmm cheesecake mix....
