Default Halfway Point

So today is day 7 of my induction but I am running into some questions about moving to owl next week. The first 3 days of my induction were rough and I didn't stop drinking massive amounts of caffeine until day 3. I did finally break the habit but I can't really count those days as clean. I also had three days of struggling with artificial sweeteners and while I didn't go over the three a day limit a couple times the drug of choice was aspartame. The problem is that I reacted really bad to them; it was almost as if I had eaten real sugar. So here it is day 7 and I am still struggling with carb withdrawals/addiction and feel like I am just now doing induction right. Am I supposed to stay on induction until the cravings break? I don't feel like anything is a habit yet and I'm wondering if it should be more ingrained before moving on. I am also looking at modified OWL which look like it may give me more time to get used to this WOE before flooding me with lots of new stuff.

I tried to break the coffee thing, but could not. Even decaf did not cut it. I find that all I need is a SMALL amount, a little baby cup in the morning, and I can function. So I continue with my coffee every morning (w/ half and half, no artificial sweetner) and I seem to be still losing weight with it.

As for the Carb withdrawals, today is Day 10 for me, and I think it's my first day of feeling OK. Still, I'm going to stay on Induction for 2 more weeks, as I find I'm dong well on it (in terms of losing weight).

wow, I can't do baby cups. I'm a quad breve latte with a Diet Rockstar chaser. I have to admit that I feel fine once it was out of my system. I did have a swallow of diet soda before I realized it had caffeine though and was shocked to end up with a headache for an hour. So I guess this is about the fourth day since I quit coffee... I don't want to do extended induction for fear of lowering my CCLL but I don't want to jump into a lot of carbs and new foods either.

I would suggest moving to rung one of OWL after your first 14 days and staying there for a few weeks while you get your bearings.

I stayed on that rung for several months, adding another 5 net carbs of induction-legal vegetables every few weeks till I was at about 40 net carbs and still losing, then climbed further up the carbohydrate ladder.

Yes once you get out of induction, you don't go crazy, you only get to add 5 grams of carbs above what you are doing on induction. So you get a few more greens and veggies. You won't stop weight loss becuase of that! Just make good choices. Everything else is pretty much the same as on induction. I stayed on induction probably two more weeks before taking that tentative step to OWL and I am still losing. Well, I haven't weighed but I know I am losing inches, I can feel it and see it.

That 14 days was to break those bad habits. I am glad to see they didn't break you!!

Great job!
