Atkins Phase: 14-day Induction

Default Day 14 - 13 pounds lost

Just finished day 14 of the induction and ive lost 13 pounds. I now only have another 15 pounds to go!

I think i misread the OWL stage wrong, as I though I would now be able to have a nice bowl of berries and double cream, however it appears this isnt till about rung 3!

I think i'll keep on induction for another week, but have a small bowl of berries with double cream every other day - does this sound like a big mistake waiting to happen?

Once you do that you will be doing "Dave's diet" and no longer doing the Atkin's diet. Honestly, look at what you have accomplished, do you really want to ruin that for a bowl of berries that you are going to eventually get soon anyway? I miss berries horribly but I am hanging in there and only staring at them when people eat them. Grant it, you don't have as much to lose as I do but it could very well, stop your weight loss. It might not, but it could. I personally think you should hang in there a few more weeks and go up to rung 3 appropriately. In the long run, it will be best for you. You don't want to put all this work into it only to get that fat right back. I hope I didn't come across as harsh.

YEP!! You have had great success following the book. Especially with so little to lose. Why would you want to wonder away from the book now?? Since you want the berries and cream the best way to get there is to start OWL...so add 5 more grams of veggies and go from there. The sooner you start the sooner you will get to the rung.

The more you wonder from the book and modify the less your chances of success and the more likely that you will put the weight back on. Good luck!!

Thanks for your advice. Ive just taken the berries out of the fridge and put them in the freezer until im ready.

Bit gutted as I was really looking forward to them today, however will teach me to pay more attention to the book!

Regarding the extra 5g of carbs via vegatbles - does that work out as an extra cup?

On the induction I was having either 3 x salad or 2 x salad and1 veg.
On OWL, will it be 3 x salad and 1 x vegetable, 2 x salad and 2 x veg or have I got it completly wrong again!

It actually answers your question. There are also more stickies full of good info in the OWL forum. Go read them and introduce yourself there. They will be able to answer your questions there as you go along.

Be thankful you learned the lesson about paying attention to the book before you did it wrong!

I am impressed that you put the berries back. What a great gift you just gave yourself of learning self control!!! You are on the road to success.

Oh! Congratulations on putting the berries back! I am just on Rung 1 of OWL so I am learning too. Yes, go to that link and also read on the OWL stickies! Along with those, the book, and the people here helping we can figure this out!
