Default Newbie here...

Hi all!! I am new to this site, but thank everyone for all the great info... I am here to lose some weight and so far am off to a good start. I have 3 boys, two of which are one reason for about 30 pounds of this that I have to lose. Had thyroid cancer in 05 and had my thyroid removed. Had a hysterectomy after they found tumors there as well. So the weight gain began around 10 years ago and I've done nothing to stop it, until now... I stopped drinking diet sodas because of the effects the Aspartame was having on my body. Since then, February 28, I have lost a total of 9 pounds, as of this past Sunday. I only weigh once a week, on Sundays, and trust me, that is HARD for me to do, when I used to get on that thing at least 10 times a day. Hubby has it in his car so I won't be tempted to start that cycle again.
I do not eat red meat, nor dairy, nor pork, so this diet is kinda difficult for me.. I consume chicken, salmon, turkey and tuna... Getting pretty good with my own variations of the menus... I eat soy frequently as well, but do watch those carbs.. I ride my recumbent bike for 30 minutes a day, not to mention the baseball played with my 8 and 10 year olds...Worrying about my Marine son as well... Working in the garden or flowers also burns up some fat too... Does anyone have any pointers for a newbie like myself? My 14 day induction will be over on Sunday, so I will update with my progress... So far I have lost an inch and a half in my waist and 2 inches in my thighs.... I am a stay at home mom who homeschools the two younger children, while the older one, 22, is a Marine..
Thanks for any advice you all might have for me..... I look forward to losing alot of weight here with the help of you all.... I love reading the success stories.... WOW!!!!!

Margaret
