Default Cheesecake...

I want something sorta sweet...I have read and reread all the stuff in the cake like 3-4 times but I am scared to make one & me stop losing weight I am on day 11 of my induction. I have had a pretty clean induction & have lost 7lbs so far. Also, my birthday is in 2 wks & I plan on staying on induction til I at least lose 20lbs cause I know if I am not strict with myself I will fall of track. Anyhow, if anyone would let me know if they had any stalls with eating the low-carb cheesecake?
Thanks

Couple of things....

Congrats on your 7 pound loss.

Secondly, each of us react differently to various foods. Some foods are triggers for some people, but not for others. For example, I can't eat any combination of eggplant and tomato without having severe cravings for any type of food. But others can eat that combination without any problems at all.

Since you know that you have to be strict with yourself in order to stay on course, you gotta ask yourself, will you be able to stop with one serving of the cheesecake or not? If you can honestly say "yes, one serving will be all I need and I can put the cake in the fridge and not even want another serving until next week", then go ahead and try it out. But if you have the slightest doubt that you might not be able to stop at one serving, you might want to re-think it. Feeding your sweet tooth isn't a good idea because it might make you want more and more and more. I've seen plenty of folks through the years fall off because they have fed their sweet tooth.

The other thing about a sweet craving or any food craving in particular is that it might be due to a blood sugar instability problem. So if this craving has just hit you in the last few days, you might want to carefully review your menu and the ingredients of the foods you eat to see if anything you eat might be the culprit.

Thank you so much. I will have to review my menu ad make sure there isn't anything. But my menu is pretty bland since I am such a picky eater. Mainly Salad and meat with little cheese and lots of water. This menu doesn't bother me and my meals are pretty much planned out and it works.

I forgot to take my vitamins the past 2days so that might be the problem. I might make one and bring it to work on Friday(plus it needs to settle over night) when I know everyone will be there and I will have my one slice and give the rest of the cake away...lol...maybe by then my craving will be gone.

What I do when I'm craving something like that is take an ounce or 2 of cream cheese, add sweetener to it and freeze it for a little while. That way I can have that and then it's done. I don't have a whole cheesecake staring me in the face.

Default Re: Cheesecake...

try creamcheese muffins. They actually are pretty good

2 8oz. pks. philadelphia cream cheese
1/2 cup sweetener (I use spenda)
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Soften cream cheese about 40 seconds in microwave. Add other ingredients. Beat with mixer till smooth. Pour into 12 muffin pans lined with the papers. Bake at 350 for 20 min.

My only advice is seek many recipe versions, check for induction-friendly ingredients, check your carbs (like on fitday.com) and be extremely careful about your portion sizes and measurements. I hope you do well. I'm going to look for something like that myself. Sounds yummy.

I made the No-bake Jello Cheesecake on
http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/recipes.html

I used Strawberry sugar-free Jello. I LOVED it. I ate one small peice and it hit the spot. The rest I gave away at work. And looking at the pie it said servings were 8 slices well the slice I had must have been 1/2 a serving cause I cut it portioned for 8 slices and they were HUGE slices!

But it hit the spot for something sweet but totally legal. I just redid my menu for the day and made sure I didn't go over my daily limits with the cake.

Good-luck =)
