| Those shakes and bars will stall you or possibly make you gain weight. They are over processed and have ingredients in them that are not allowed until a higher rung if at all. Becareful with them cause even thought they have Atkins name on them, they are not necessarily endorsed by him. I was eating them and had a big time stall form them. Once I stopped them, the weight started to come off again. Oh yeah, drink lots of water too and follow the rung ladder to a tee and you will lose. Good luck

| Hello, Do you have DANDR 2002? Have you read it? It's really important that you understand Atkins. In the book there's are food list to go by for Induction that you should follow to a T. Stay away from processed food. You want to go through a clean Induction. I would lose the pork rinds, Diet rite, Atkins bars and shakes. All Processed! Reach for fresh vegetables, meat and dairy. Stick to drinking your water. If you're having sweet cravings, buy some L-Glutamine and take it, it will help you with the cravings. Have a fat snack instead. That will help keep your cravings away. Also, because you are Type -2 Diabetic you may want to choose foods lower on the Glycemic Index (GI). You can learn more about it at www.glycemicindex.com . When I began Atkins 4 years ago my doctor was treating my Type-2 Diabetes with two types of insulin. 48 days into Atkins my diabetes disappeared and I no longer required the medication to control it. It was and still is controlled by Atkins alone and by using the glycemic index. This is very possible for you as well. You want to keep a steady metobolic burn without spikes and dives. Eat every four hours and pick a time at night where you won't eat anything thereafter. This is a time to discipline yourself and make Lifestyle changes. Remember this isn't a diet, it's a lifestyle. As long as you're following the plan 100% you will get 100% results. I wish you the best of health and lite. Sincerely, Sherri

| That is what I thought. My cousin was & is on & off of Atkins all the time & told me the bars & shakes would be fine. Honestly don't know how she does it, she does not stick to Atkins & changes the rules to suit her, but I am grateful for her introducing me to Atkins. Unlike her, I want to learn all I can about Atkins & want to stick to it & become healthier! I have read DANDR 2002 & just started re reading it because I want to get the most out of Atkins & know I messed up somewhere this week. This is a hard thing to get use to, but I know it will be worth it-thanks for the encouragement!Keep up the great work! Nice to know there is support out there! THANK YOU THANK YOU! |

| Hi, I would try to cut all diet sodas and shakes and bars (and any substitute carb controlled products). They were the kiss of death for my diet last time and caused cravings galore! Stick to real foods and you will be fine x |

| I think you have discovered one of the guiding principles of Atkins. If you add a new food and experience a stall or return of cravings, remove it and see if it helps. If so, whether or not that particular food is legal for most, it is not "legal" for you. That is what climbing the rungs of OWL is all about.
