| You have a choice of almost any meat, why would you think you would have to eat eggs or fish? I can easily go a week without eating either. If you see someone else's menu you kinda like and they have fish one day, you can have prime rib. |

| Do you eat other kinds of meat? You never have to eat foods you don't like on Atkins. Many people on Atkins never even touch an egg or piece of fish. If you haven't done so already, pick up a copy of Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution (2002 edition) and read it a few times, no joke! There's so much info in that thing, it's easy to miss important things the first time around. The book explains why the plan works, and lists acceptable foods for each phase. In the meantime, check out the Induction stickies on the board. A list of acceptable foods should be there. Basically, any protein is fair game: beef, chicken, pork, fish, shellfish, eggs, organ meats, wild game, even tofu is allowed (though you must count the carbs) as it is considered a soy cheese. Quote:
Atkins is more than induction. Check out the book, check out the stickies on the board, and read up on the plan ASAP.

| Hi! First off, thanks for the quick replies! Next....I know you can have about any meat....(I did get the book but I have to be honest, I've misplaced it) I also eat a lot of veggies. I have NOOOO problem eating them, but I know there is a limit to what you can eat on the induction phase, which is where I'm confused. The things I do eat, I'm afraid I'm gonna eat too much of or something. Like (I said I dont like eggs, but I do eat the egg patties you buy in the freezer section of the grocery store) I have like 2 or 3 of those in the morning with either bacon or fried honey ham....(I dont even think thats legal, right? It has 1 carb per slice) Then for a snack I eat a string cheese and HAVE BEEN but wont anymore, a piece of sugar-free candy. Usually for dinner, a pork chop or two and some fried cabbage. I have just been eating the same things and I'm afraid I'm getting bored with them. So, sometimes I don't eat enough. Just wanted some ideas on how to "jazz up" the induction WOE!!! By the way....this site has inspired me to actually start the ATKINS INDUCTION instead of watching my carbs! Congrats on all who have lost soooo much weight....I've been watching you guys for almost 2 weeks now. JULIE!! you look great and you were one of my biggest inspirations so it was gr8 to hear from you! |

| I'm on the 2nd week of Induction and I'm getting sick of eggs. My husband is on it and he doesn't have time in the morning to cook eggs so he eats leftovers from dinner the night before. You could do that. We just think eggs because we grew up thinking they were for breakfast but as long as you eat something to start your day it doesn't matter what it is. I haven't eaten fish yet. I'll eat fish but I'm not crazy over it so it hasn't come into my menu planning yet.

| Thanks, Porcelain! I'll go check it out! Hate to feel like a pest, I'm usually a "take charge" of my own kinda person, but for some reason I feel like I need to be led through this "induction process"...lol |

| It can be tricky. Definitely read up on it. I didn't remember reading you could only have 3 Splenda a day (I don't use any now) but little things like that can make problems for an otherwise spectaclar induction. |

| Yeah! I am "dieting" alone in my house, so I have to pretty much plan my meals around my family's. Like when they have taco night, I have a taco salad with no shell (on lettuce instead). When they have home made pizza, I put some mozz cheese in a pan, brown it then put some hamburger, green pepper and onion on it. I am learing to be creative BUT I don't think I'm induction legal with these things, and especially the amounts. I will just have to be more careful I guess. |

| It's a fine balance because a certain chemical change has to happen within your body. That is why it should be balanced so. I have to eat around my family too but luckily, my daughter likes a lot of what I like and she will eat a lot of veggies, raw and cooked, too. |
