| Mango and banana are fruit and are very high in carbs, even on maintenance they would be an occasional thing at most. You don't have to just eat salad, in fact on OWL rung one you'd be best trying to eat the most nutritious veg possible. So things like broccoli, cabbage, turnip, kale, sprouts, tomato, peppers and so on are better choices than, say, lettuce, which has basically nothing but fibre and water.

| If you descide that you want to move up the ladder Dr Atkins has a list of the foods you should add. The first level is more veggies, instead of 2-3 cups you can now eat 3-4 cups, stuff like that. Also you move up 5 grams of carbs each time you move up. So if your eating 20 carbs now, you try 25 carbs and see how your body reacts to that. You need to stay at that level for a couple weeks just to make sure your still losing. After more veggies the next rung of the ladder is fresh cheese, (cottage, ricotta, farmers) After that is seeds and nuts, then berries and mellons. Bananas and mangos are like the 7th rung. LOL, hope I haven't confused you more |
