Default Meat

Just wondering how many ozs of meat is everyone eating throughout the day.

I am eating 8 oz of meat and 9 oz of fish. I was going by the example given in Dr. A's book.

I think I need to be increasing my fat intake and cutting down to 6 ozs for my protein at each sitting.

Looking forward to hearing what others are doing on this.

Thanks.

Default Re: Meat

If you look at the recipes in the back of the book, the meat servings per person is 4-8 ounces. But the real measure of how much you should eat is your appetite. If you are satisfied in eating 4 ounces, then that's all you eat. If it takes 8 ounces to satisfy you, then eat 8 ounces. Just keep in mind that Atkins is a high fat diet, not a high protein one.

Don't be afraid of feeling hungry...one of the side effects of ketosis/lipolysis is appetite suppression.

Our protein intake should only be at 30% and I always go over that.

But it says to not intake more than 30% of protein. So how would you track down your protein then.

What is your fat and carb intake like?

Just to clarify for others who might be reading this thread. It's 30% of our total daily calorie intake. Fats at about 65% and carbs about 5%

Its rougly in the 50% total for the day.

My fat is roughly in 45-58ish% total for the day.

What foods are you eating that are high in fat during the day.

Thanks.

Carbs 4-5% total.

The Carbs seem to be right.

I think I have a high protein intake and need to reduce it and up my fat intake.

I tend to eat high protien as well. That is probably why I am hitting a platue right now. I didn't think of it in the high fat not high protien way.

But, I am right there with you. What can I eat that is just fat?

All I can think of is pork rinds and butter by the stick.

Exactly that is what my thought was, which I dont have a problem with neither of these items. I guess we can also include heavy cream to make something with since I don't drink coffee.
