Default sadness ,sensivity and crabbiness in induction

Hello,
I am on day seven of induction. Since day 3,I am finding that I feel the sadness of loss.
Also I am irritable and sensitive.I am not a dreamer usually but wake up to very vivid bad dreams.
I am hopeful that this will pass.I am trying to look at this as my withdrawal stage.
I am wonering if this is common?
There are also physical things like my knees and leggs feeling heavy when walking and
general fatigue.
I am takin the multivitam, omega 3,psyllum and acidophilous.
Are the emotional systoms common and do the pass?
Thanks,
sweet boston moe

Hi,
I am sorry you are feeling this way, I can tell you right now that I have experienced just about everything you have described including the dreaming. I have been taking supplements. (just a basic multi-vitamin)

Question: Is your acidophilous dairy free?
Are you eating enough fat?
Are you exercising?
Are you drinking plenty ot water?

It may just be withdrawal, all kinds of things can happen from what I have seen with myself. I think they say the stronger your cravings and things were prior, the more symptoms you will have with withdrawal.

I am on day5 and I feel pretty good, but I feel fatigued when I have gone too long without any food. So I eat something and I feel much better...

Wow I never experienced anything other than cravings and lack of sleep. After 3 days or so all was well and I was on my way. I am on my weigh. God Bless, Joe

Hello Moe

I think a lot of our members experienced a great sense of loss when starting Atkins, so am sure you are not alone in this.

Some of us had to go through a sort of mourning process for the carby foods we are giving up in order to gain better health and slimmer bodies, and maybe this is what you are feeling now. Hopefully as you start to gain benefits from stopping eating those old 'comforts' and find new foods and activities that make you feel more alive and on top of things you will not regret their passing any more.

Try to think of the good tasty foods you CAN eat now, find some new favourite 'legal' dishes by looking through the many suggestions in our food forums for example.

Also Dr Atkins did say that some of us would feel weak and weary for a while which could be counteracted by adding more vegetables. Maybe if you post your daily meals including amounts in the 'Review my menu' forum ( http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...sprune=-1&f=50 ) someone can give you suggestions for 'tweaking' them to give you more nutrients if they are lacking in what you are currently eating.

Not only do we mourn food and face what ever caused us to over eat in the first place but I think if causes hormonal fluxuations with the change of our bodies that could cause the change in women to be weepy or sad ,ect...I don't know how it would effect men. I got incredibly weepy and went on sertraline which has helped for a while but now I want to get off of it because I don't feel like I need it anymore.
