| I'm on day two and I'm doing alright. I'm still tired but I coin that to my baby not sleeping though the night and also working full-time. I have had more energy in the last two days than prior to restarting Atkins. I haven't experience it but they say that the more healthy you get the more energy you get. I'll have to wait and see to see if that's true. Good luck and Stay strong! |

| Hi Sungju ![]() Many people find they are tired and a bit weak when starting Atkins, but usually this goes away once the body is used to using fat instead of carbs for energy. Maybe if you list your daily foods including amounts in the 'Review my Menu' forum someone can spot a deficiency which you can correct. As to how to eat before a race, I dont run but many of our members do, so perhaps if you post a question about this problem in our Exercise forum they can advise you. http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...aysprune=&f=14 I know ttdriver for one is a great advocate of running while sticking firmly to Atkins eating, so I am sure she could give you some suggestions from her experience as well as many of our other members.

| I think what really helped me this time was taking a good vitamin and multi-oils. I was really tired on Day 3, but now I'm feeling good. Congrats on the road race! |

| I do know what you mean about lack of energy. I wake up just great. Better than I have in a VERY long time. But I'm on day 4 and by 6-7 pm I feel dead to the world. I literally cannot function anymore. As soon as my husband comes home he's put in charge of our precious hethens |

| Joe, I am glad that you are feeling so great! I wish you good luck. Mrs. Fink, I actually have the easiest job in the world, and no kids so I think it is my body adjusting to the diet. I started Atkins about a month ago or so(I can't remember exactly) I am restarting again (2 and a half weeks in). I had to restart again because I had a few binges. Maybe after a good month of not cheating I will get some energy. Good luck to you. Day 3 was a hard day for me the first time around. This time around the only symptoms have been lack of energy and leg cramps. To Elizellen, Nice to see you again. Sorry I have been a stranger. I was thinking that fat and protein digest so slowly right, and are not easy to digest so it must take alot of energy just to digest it. So maybe like you said my body just needs to get used to it. I am getting the maximum amount of veggies so I don't know. I am eating very fresh food these days. I am definately eating enough. Yeah, I should post my menu. Have been taking a multivitamin/mineral/calcium and a fibre supplement. My digestion has actually been better than ever with the fibre supplement! I will post in the exercise forum. Thanks so much. Good luck to you. To Nicole, Thanks for the thoughts! To mom with5 kids, When I wake up I feel pretty dead so I drink two glasses water and then feel better in about 20 minutes. Than I go for a run. It's really strange but my runs are so much better these days. That is the only time I actually have energy. The rest of the day my energy level just goes down and down until I just feel dead to the world as you put it. That is really good news how you said eventually you had alot of energy! Yeah, that must be really hard for him. I am not a coffee drinker. I understand what he means by not being able to think. My students must think I have lost my mind. Poor students. You have 5 kids! Wow that is a challenge. Thanks so much.
