i contacted Queens, the manufacturer of the vanilla extract and artificial vanilla extract i use and they said that neither contain any sugars. Perhaps email the company who owns the products in question.

I contacted Clubhouse who makes all kinds of extracts in Canada. No carbs, no sugar. Yeah! Extracts will be my new best friend. Bought maple and coconut.

I love the mock danish with banana extract instead of vanilla.

One thing I would add is that sometimes flavouring extracts are made with a base of alcohol. If so then strictly speaking they ought not to be introduced till the alcohol rung of OWL.

i wondered about that too .. a friend of mine ( who is also a low carber) said she likes bananna extract with whipping cream? Never tried it but it sounds pretty yummy

They do have a bit of alcohol (vanilla included) - your body probably burns it off in a matter of minutes. However, if you use Ketostix it will give you a false purple (only if you check shortly after using the extract.) I love the banana extract! I keep meaning to check out other flavors.

I LOVE extracts. I actually got the idea from Valid Rouge and tried an 'Imitation vanilla butter nut' extract and it is simply DIVINE!!!!

I have to try the banana one...i hope I like it, I am very funny about banana flavors...some just dont quit do it for me. LOL. But I will grab some from Walmart tomorrow.
