dont worry about the spelling We knew what you meant!!It is confusing as the Atkins website has changed their recommendations to increase the suggested amount of veggies and have said we should have 12-15 net carbs from our veggies, whereas Dr Atkins said in DANDR to have 2 cups from the 'salad veg' list plus one cup from the 'other list'. He also said we should have 'most' of our daily up to 20 net carbs from our veg - which does in reality mean about 12-15 net carbs I suppose. But as you have noticed, if someone chooses to eat 3 cups of 'chewy water' (aka lettuce ) as their 3 cups of veg this would only make 1.2 net grams of carbs, meaning they shouldn't really allow themself more than about half a gram of carbs of other foods (one egg!) as well if they want to stick to the 'most from veg' rule!!So in order to stick to Dr Atkins rules laid down in DANDR we need to choose our veggies carefully from those with higher carb counts per cup. We have a semi-annual challenge where we try to get the correct amount of carbs from our veg which might give you some ideas on how to do this. Here is the last one's thread Are You Eating Your Veggies? Challenge #2 I had a quick look and here is how one member did it Quote:
BTW not all the participants were on induction, so you will see some people posting higher carb counts because they had progressed up the OWL ladder and were aiming at a higher net carb total from their veg. I hope this helps
