----------------------------- If you dont have a kitchen scales you will need to calculate it. If there are say 250 grams drained weight in a jar and it has 25 onions in it then each onion weighs about 10 grams and would have 0.4/100 x 10 (=0.04 grams) each and mean you had eaten 0.4 grams for the 10 of them. If however they were large ones and there were 10 in a jar of 250 gram drained weight then each one weigh 25 grams and would have 0.4 /100 x 25 (= 0.1 grams) each and there would be 1 gram of carbs in 10 of them. --------------------- If you have a kitchen scales the easiest way would be to weigh them in grams, divide the total weight by 100 and times it by 0.4 to get the total grams of carb eaten

If they are pickeled, store bought, be really careful. Regardless of the carb count, they probably are made with sugar. I make "pickled eggs, onions," etc using a little vinegar and liquid splenda. if you use granuloar splenda count the carbs and the sweetner limit.

Hi Danielle, I love pickled onions too - but finding them without sugar is hard as these guys have said. You said you like veg but are worried about it being high carb - don't worry, as once you take away the fibre it works out much lower. I use fitday to work this out, but I think the net carbs listed in DANDR also reflect this. You get a lot of fibre in veg, which you can take away.

Thanks a lot for your helpful messages. I guess it's just getting the hang of it at first that's hard. Thanks Danielle
