My Mayo has sugar..help?

Was trying to figure out was I was craving food this week when I was not last week... I have had chicken salad with Hellaman's real mayo in it the last two days for lunch... I just read the label and it has sugar in it... What mayo doesn't have sugar since its on the induction list????

Hi Cheryl,

I used Hellmans (actually best foods down here) for quite a while with no problems. You can also make your own. It's pretty good but I was too lazy to keep it up Some folks on here have mentioned Dukes. I think you can only get it in the south. A few months ago I went into their website and found out I could order some. It was about the same price as best foods and free shipping. Can't beat that

Dukes is the one I use also. In Maryland you can get it at Food Lion, I don't know about other places. It tastes really good too. I was told in the past that the amount of sugar in the other brands is very negligible, but if you can avoid it, I definitely would!

Thanks... I'm going to check a health food store to see what I can find... I LOVE my hellmans which was one of the reasons I figured i'd could do the diet..LOL hamburger patty with cheddar cheese topped with mayo and onions is one of my favorites..

Hey, Losetocruise...I'm right on the Mason Dixon Line and shop in Maryland a good bit. I'll keep my eye open for Duke's. Maybe Martin's will carry it.

Do you know if Dukes has a canola oil variety? I don't mind the small amount of sugar in the mayo but I'm trying to avoid anything with soy oil in it. It seems like everything contains either soy or corn oil. Not so good.

I searched stores in my area that carry it, and the Food Lion in Elkton, Maryland has it!
