| Have you tried sausage in the morning instead? I know it can be difficult to find a premade sausage that doesn't have any sugar or carb fillers in it. The ones I find are that if you get the ground stuff from your butcher and just mention you can't have sugar or grains/flour of any kind see what they say. Jimmy Dean's Natural Original has 1 gram of sugar in 2 oz, so I am waiting on that until after induction. Applegate Farms is a brand they sell at my Fred Meyer (Kreuger Stores) I'm not sure about their sausage, but I know that their bacon is sugar/nitrate free.

| I agree on adding more fat. Also I detox something fierce and get very Hypoglycemic. I have always been that way. Even full term with my twins my blood sugars were low. Anyways, I can't eat tomatoes. They push me right over an edge and I feel like crap. I am also having problems with onions. So it could be balancing out your foods, eating more fat, detox, or a food sensitivity or all of the above!!! What fun. I am glad youa re feeling better. Know you aren't alone!

| Thank you Erika! I appreciate your advice too. I have upped my fat today too so hopefully I will continue to feel better tomorrow. Thank you for mentioning that you drop your blood sugar when you detox. I had no idea that this is most likely what is going on. I have dealt with hypoglycemia my whole life--this really makes sense to me. I have not had any tomatoes or onions today--maybe this will help too! Gosh I miss fruit though! just had to add that! |

| I missed fruit at first too - especially cutting it all day for the girls to munch on. But now the craving is gone. Hang in there!

| Hi there, I am on fourth day induction I am finding it very hard to stop thinking like a low fat dieter! I think its just been programed into us and is a hard habit to break. I am trying to eat more fat but find my brain telling me "my god you cant eat that your mother would kill you, its dripping with fat"...Ha Ha. Luckily for me Im a meat lover and a cheese lover and have always been told that these are my downfalls! My bf told said to me this morning "god you really are losing weight" I hope he wasnt just saying it to make himself feel less guilty about eating a plate full of chips last night infront of me! I only have 15-20lbs to lose (only i say as if its easy)...i think sometimes having less to lose is harder as your more inclined to cheat and the first few lbs arent as noticable. Definatley add more fat and veggies, I am also having that shaky foggy feeling so i just boiled myself up some brocoli with butter to keep me pep for my aerobics session later. Best of luck! |

| Glad you are feeling better! This is not a quick fix for 'feeling like crap' but it is important. We need extra vitamins on Atkins. Something like Centrum Silver or another good multi with no added iron. Dr. Atkins realized this is not really nutritionally balanced and he makes clear supps are as 'non-negotiable' as exercise is.

| Thanks you two! I appreciate the commiseration and the vitamin advice. I am taking a load of those-so at least that part is on target. I am on day 9 and have stagnated at a 5 pound loss. Gosh, why does it seem so much easier to pack on the weight than take it off? I am frustrated with my lack of progress! |
