Default Oh that's better! *sigh*

Right, well I've just finished off a diced pepper dipped in an ounce of soft cheese - and it was delicious! I have to confess that I was beginning to wonder if I was going to be able to make it to day 3! But I guess I need to just find out what suits me - and I was definitely wrong to skip all vegetables...those peppers have never tasted so good!

Quick question - the max of 4oz of cheese a day....that includes softcheese too? or can I have 4oz of hard and 4oz of soft (hmmm I think I already know the answer to that one!)

Oh and I've just made up a bowl of sugar free jelly Yum! (do I have to count any carbs for that??? it says it has 0.5 carbs per serving, so I count that as a half a carb right?)

and I've also made some oopsies! That's the first time I've baked for years - and it felt good. They seem to have turned out ok - they look delicious anyway. They're currently cooling - now I just have to decide what do to with them.

Finally, my pee stick turned this afternoon (after 1.5 days). It's only gone as far as the first colour but at least it's moving

Hope you're all having good days

Pamela

Veggies play an important part in this way of life. So good for you for finding something that works for you.

4 oz of cheese daily..that is it. Not all kinds either so check the list. The bright part is once you start climbing the rungs after veggies is dairy and you can add more in there. Worth it just for the ricotta for me....LOL!

Oopsies are yummy. don't forget to count the carbs for the eggs and the cheese. Check out the never ending induction recipe thread in this forum for more great ideas.

You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated. In fact, it may be necessary to encounter the defeats, so you can know who you are, what you can rise from, how you can still come out of it. ~Maya Angelo~

Way to go RocChic!!!!

I can't really answer you question about the cheese, b/c i don't eat cheese. However, I wanted to say GOOD JOB in making it to day 3...Just remember 1 day at a time.

Your going to do wonderfully!

Don't worry about the color on the Keto Strips "Moving up." Any color at all shows you are in ketosis... A good way to think about it (courtesy of someone else sorry don't remember who though) is that it's like a pregnancy test... You either are or aren't pregant; you either are or aren't in ketosis... no inbetween! And some people say that the darkest color means you are dehydrated....

Congrats on being inketosis!

As you suspect - any kind of 'legal' cheese is included in the 3-4 ounces max - even tofu (which dr Atkins called soy cheese) counts as a cheese! And make sure you count each ounce as being 1 carb, no matter what the actual carb count is.

Yes - but remember that Dr Atkins said to avoid aspartame and as far as I know all the UK sugarfree jelly (jello in USA) mixes and premade pots are made with it. You can always buy unflavoured gelatine and use splenda or another 'legal' sweetener to make your own desserts.
