| A tip for cooking for both yourself and your family. Make each meal contain a protein and a carb and veggies for your family. For you just omit the carb! Examples: Breakfast: Eggs and Bacon/Sausuage and pancakes or waffles or biscuits or hashbrowns etc Lunch: Put your sandwich items on a bed of lettuce instead! (this can be done with everything from lunch meat to egg salad, tuna salad, chicken salad... or just a bunch of salad veggies and find a sugar free atkins friendly dressing. Marie's dressings (some of them) are made w/ sour cream vs milk and are induction friendly. I eat the Chunky feta dressing 1 carb from the sour cream is all it has) Dinners: Shrimp alfredo (have yours on spaghetti squash vs noodles and just take your shrimp out of the pan before you add the alfredo and have yours with garlic and butter on it -Breaded Chicken... bread yours without the milk just egg and use groud up pork rhinds to bread your chicken -I made pizza but I used oopsie rools for mine (recipe can be found here)

| Thanks Bonnie Rose! I do find it hard, as over these parts of the world, it's winter, and I find it hard to be motivated in winter. I do like your idea about the lettuce sandwich-fantastic! Thanks again, I'm back on track started today, will look up some of the dinner recipes. Have a great day.. Michelle |

| I totally understand. I've been trying to lose since winter and not really motivated until now; summer time. I cook for myself and my husband and he isn't willing to change his diet. I usually just make him a carb that I don't eat (potatos normally) to go with the protein and veggie I eat, but sometimes when he wants pasta I'll have mine w/ the spaghetti squash (not sure if you can find it in winter never tried) then if he wants pizza i'll either eat the toppings in a dish with my entire daily serving of cheese broiled in a little oven bowl or i'll make oopsies and put mine on them. Good Luck! It can definitely be done!

| Thanks for the Oopsies link, Bonnie Rose, I was going to ask what they were! I have had a successful three days now, and had a good read through the recipes and food forums to get some (great) ideas as well. I can honestly say I am not starving, I lost 20 kilos (44 pounds) through low fat and weight watchers, but it took a couple of years and I was always hungry. I thought it was because I started to exercise, but now realise that it was the food I was eating! I still have a bit to go, but found the going tough with low fat foods, but hopefully this will be a long term change for me. Have a great weekend and thanks for your help! Michelle |
